Pausing at the start to say that if our main character Buffy were experiencing some kind of loss of power, which would obviously be temporary, because she's the star, we would be sympathetic. So why not extend that same grace to Riley, who was used to being super and now is just a regular guy dating a woman who is super? It's gotta feel pretty rough, and I imagine he can't help but feel inferior and unworthy. Anyway, I've always been a Riley sympathizer.

Tara's brother is played by Kevin Rankin. He's a really great actor, I like him a lot! But man, he was stuck being typecast as neo-nazi scum for a while there! 🤣 Between 2010 and 2013 he appeared in 3 TV shows and 2 movies, and in all he specifically played white supremacist characters. In real life he's a great guy though, from what I've heard. I've read several interviews with cast or directors on other shows he guest starred in where, unprompted, he was mentioned as a great guest star they wanted to bring back just to work with him again.

I don't understand the general hate the Riley character gets for being "vanilla/cardboard", I think he seems perfectly fine as a character. However, I also agree with you guys' criticisms of him last week. Dude is making questionable choices right now, out of a feeling of inferiority and a fear of losing Buffy.
