Wild how the world worked pre-Covid. I had a visceral reaction to seeing Rosa sick and without a mask on. Nowadays if someone coughed on me, I would be in agreement with the prep they were questioning. That's assault. And disgusting.

Youtalkingtome

Right? All I could think the entire time was "why aren't you wearing a mask??"

dys

I think people are less hesitant to take off work when they're sick now too, of course I work in a type of job where even before COVID anyone could work from home when they needed to but now nobody would even consider coming into the office while sick.

Erica

I had a problem with this in new girl too, but some of these writers don't understand how medicine works lmao. "non-drowsy" doesn't mean hyper and manic, and it's almost cringeworthy to watch 😂 new girl haf Jess acting similarly when she was taking pain meds

Erica

Though, as someone who doesn't sleep well, flu medicine sleeps are so nice 😂

It's exaggerated, but it is not far off from how Dayquil makes me feel and act tbh. Maybe it's because I never partied as much as I should have when I was younger, but those daytime cold medicines turn me into a tweaker.

Erica

Idk, i also never really partied (never taken drugs exceot edibles to fall asleep with, and i might average 2 hard ciders a year), but dayquil has always been the same as nyquil for me, only without the part that makes me fall asleep. Only nyquil affects my sleep at all, but it could just be my personal sleep problems making me see it this way (currently sporting a black eye bc i fell asleep sitting up on my bed and fell over the side, landing face first on the hardwood floor - so my sleep patterns are very strange 😂)

Don't worry, Joe, we don't think you're less of a man if you take your time on scrambled eggs. They're a *lot better that way.

Carl Wilson

Some cold medicines definitely have upper or downer effects, but different people have different reactions. Few of them as extreme as characters on sitcomes, though, of course.

I live in Australia near Melbourne, sadly American's have no idea what real coffee tastes like, Melbourne is a coffee drinkers' paradise! Ive heard tales of something American's drink called creamer? bizarre stuff

Jamie Morgan

Don't ever apologise for going off-topic in your introductions! I watch these first thing in the morning, and I love a little anti-capitalism rant with my coffee, really gets me pumped! I love how intentionally this show steers away from 'relationship drama'. They could have easily written Sophia as jealous and annoyed, but she's actually understanding...up to a point, when she gets understandably frustrated but handles it very maturely by removing herself from the situation. I was also expecting a double breakup, but it's great that Jake and Sophia worked it out. Nice little nod to Jake's growing maturity, too. Also, crazy how you watched the creepy doll episode of OMiTB and the creepy doll episode of B99 in the same week! What are the odds??

Jamie Morgan

I have to steer clear from certain medications when I'm sick because they send me loopy. I don't know if it's the same in America, but here in the UK "non-drowsy" means there's caffeine in it.

2026-10-18 15:00 Oh, Americans LOVE coffee creamer. There isn’t a fielder store in the land that doesn’t carry it.

I watched a great Kenji vid about scrambled eggs. He believes that pre-salting your whipped eggs, and allowing them to rest a bit, keeps them from becoming watery after cooking. It does seem to work, but my sample size is low.

Erica

It's probably brand specific. I take non drowsy claritin every day, and it doesn't seem to have caffeine in it (though i haven't checked)

I loved your energy here so much, your jokes were great and it's obvious you were having a great time! Also as for the coffee vs tea question, Germany is also very much a coffee nation. Coffee is a staple in the mornings, at every meeting and date and in every workplace. On the other hand, most households might have some herbal tea for when you get sick and some fruit teas for the kids or guests who don't drink coffee. But people who drink actual black or green tea are more of an exception (like me; I worked part time in a tea shop in college and have over 50 different loose leaf tea blends at home). (Another exception is the coastal region East Frisia, where tea was more easily accessible due to trade routes and they therefore have more of a tea culture. Apparently they drink more than ten times as much tea per capita as the rest of Germany)

Rainy day and the kids are watching disn3y and I've put my headphones upto watch this. Daughter peaked over my shoulder and asked if you were my friends... lol. Obviously haven't introduced the 5 year old toyoutube reactions...

The scene where Charles sneaks up on Holt at the ATM is one of my favorite moments from the show.
