I'm so glad you're checking this show out! This was filmed at a real estate - Highclere Castle in Hampshire - which is now partially a museum and was rented as the set for the most of Downton Abbey (except for downstairs and the kitchen - these were modernized at the estate so they've built a replica for these rooms). Also, most of the large furniture, books and paintings in the main rooms do actually belong to the family of this estate and were used as props. I think the show depicts the life of the elites of that time pretty well, as in, it's very believable and very interesting to watch. I like that they've kept real historical events happening "in the background" and touching the family members in different ways.

And now I see everyone has commented about the Castle in the uncut version already :) just ignore my comment :)

At this point, when it suits me to view the Watch Along, I’ll hop over to the Uncut to leave my comments. They have SO much more activity, it’s really the only way to feel like you’re part of the conversation anymore.
