"Who cares". I love it.

Brian Harris

You’re not reaching on the Nixon comparison. If you study Nixon’s life, Don IS Nixon. Born into poverty on a farm, constantly reinventing himself, a brilliant mind and corrupted spirit who ascended to astonishing heights from a past he’s grown ashamed of. By the same token, Pete IS Kennedy. When Don lists all of Pete’s character vices - entitled, ruthless, born with a silver spoon, prepared to cheat to win - he’s describing Kennedy. A fascinating deep dive into both these men and the American psyche. “One never knows how loyalty is born” is one of the best lines ever on this show.

Okay I thought the parallel seemed too important to be remiss. Pete has shared sentiments in previous episodes about Kennedy and Pete is the young up and comer with indeed a silver spoon. Makes total sense.

And in episode 10 I think Don says something like, “I see Nixon, I see myself.”

Weird Magic

Rhetorical question - if all this is true, why do we love Don and hate Nixon, while loving Kennedy and hating Pete?

Youtalkingtome

We have way more insight into Don and Pete, while the parallels are there Richard Nixon was no Jon Hamm lol
