Fleabag, Season 2, Episode 2

Great reaction, as always! Fiona Shaw was a great guest-star appearance as the therapist (she's been on True Blood and Killing Eve, but American audiences may know her best as Harry Potter's dreadful aunt). And it's a lovely moment when Fleabag acknowledges that we're her friends, who are always there to talk to. The lawyer is one of the characters who's never named and gets a memorable nickname in the credits: Hot Misogynist. The Catholic Church is equipped to handle sinners, knowing that we're all more or less constantly sinning. This applies even to priests who break their vow of celibacy, which (as Fleabag's research has shown her) has certainly happened over the centuries. If it's a one-time private thing, the rituals of confession, penance, and forgiveness would erase this like other sins. An ongoing carnal relationship would of course be another matter.

"Oh, I don't know how to talk to babies, sorry." I need to remember to use this line more often.

I found myself smiling throughout all Fleabag’s scenes with the Hot Priest this episode, their interactions are so much more wholesome than most of the relationships she has had with men so far. She seems so much happier and more engaged when she is speaking to him - it shows us how she can be when she really clicks with someone who genuinely likes her and who she genuinely likes back. I also love the scenes with the therapist - Fiona Shaw is a fabulous dramatic actor, but no one does deadpan humour quite like she does!

The therapist scene was laugh out loud hilarious. Yes, you nailed it. When she's with him I can't help but smile, they have great chemistry and it genuinely makes you feel good when they are on screen together
