OOfff that confession was amazing. It's not what I thought she was going to confess to. I love that she leaned into - "What's burdening your heart?" - rather than "confess to betraying boo." It was more foundational and more growth in terms of starting to let herself just live without having it all figured out in a way that would make living and loving safe. I kinda disagree that it's about having a man tell her what to do. When she said "I want someone to tell me what to do," I like what you guys said that her arc is her coming back to life. I kept thinking of what the therapist said - do you want to fuck a priest or do you want to fuck god? Like she wants to trade us for a god to tell her how to live an unfettered/unconfused/safe life. And she needs to let go of both us and the fantasy of choices that can shield her from loss. I think letting herself love despite the risk of losing might be some of her journey in season two. Love watching along! It's a great way to be forced to analyze a piece of art. Different viewing experience.

A lot of powerful moments in this episode. When Fleabag's inner monologue comes out ("His beautiful neck"), the priest looking directly at the camera, and of course the confession booth. I still don't know how to feel about that scene, but I think that's the point: it creates complicated feelings.

Right? Oh, I feel so good every time the two of them are on screen. They have amazing chemistry and it is my favorite part of the show.

I remember feeling so shocked the first time the Priest looked directly at us - I got chills all over. And I think you’re right: he’s picking up on her fourth-wall breaking because he sees her better than most people do. So looking forward to your reactions to the next two episode - but also so sad that the show is nearly over!
