I'd like to live in a world where, in order to be able to eat at a sit-down restaurant (at least in this country), you have to have worked in the service industry for at least a few months. How people treat waitstaff, and how they tip, is (to me) such a judge of character.

I really enjoy Jake, actually. He just genuinely sees no problem with anybody getting together, any time, and doesn't quite understand why it sometimes seems to be problematic for others. Yes, he's unusual, but there's no malice in him. It makes for some really original comedic situations.
