Sally definitely has her issues. This episode though highlighted the issue of feeling owned/bought. She'd just been screwed over by her "agent" and then a guy she slept with bought her a laptop and acted possessive over her in front of people. She absolutely has problematic behavior but this episode was highlighting her perceptions about men asserting their power over her, something poor Barry is entirely unaware of in his pursuit

Yeah the things Barry did were signs of what’s called “love bombing.” And can be one of the giant red flags for an abuser. After being sexually harassed by a man who held power over her earlier in the episode - and then subsequently losing a career opportunity due to not participating in what he wanted - her defenses definitely had to be up when all of a sudden this guy she slept with once bought her a huge gift, started calling her “his girl,” and told another guy he couldn’t talk to her. Sally can be so awful at times, but I’m giving her a bit of a pass on that one.

We are not excusing Barry at all. He is obviously psychotic. This was a really complex look into Sally this episode.
