Argh, I wish you hadn't talked through Rebecca's reprise. That song was actually a reprise of like four other songs, and there were also multiple moments throughout this show where you heard musical melodies from past songs ("Thought Bubbles" playing in the background while Josh looks in the mirror, "Love Kernels" when Rebecca's greeting her dad, and even "One Indiscernible Instant" as the wedding guests assemble). This whole episode was about Rebecca's past continuing to haunt her, which they hinted at through various musical motifs. Glad you caught the "she's just a girl in love" reference during her trial flashback. Ooo man, I am excited for season 3. Season 1 was all "I'm not crazy, Josh just happens to be here!", and then season 2 was, "I'm not crazy, I'm just a girl in love!" We get a hint of season 3 when her dad says, "You're crazy" and Rebecca replies, "Little bit."

Yes, I don't want you to talk less, because we're here for the reaction after all, and your insights are always outstanding. But... the musical numbers are focal points, they're not background or interludes, and they merit attention. (I mean, what an unprecedented feat, to create over 150 new songs for a series, each specific to its context and never repeating a genre.) OK, no more (reluctant!) negativity -- your thoughts were spot-on throughout, and this was certainly a season finale with surprises. I don't think any viewer has ever predicted Josh's decision (I certainly didn't!)... and yet on a second viewing there's a bit of foreshadowing, in his conversations with Father Brah. Onward to a new season and the new directions it takes!

Did you notice her text to her dad was exactly like her text to Josh in the beginning of the show ? It's kind of funny how you reacted to it because yeah you normally wouldn't text your dad as you would a near-stranger who you want to see but also expect to reject you because they're a near-stranger. But that's the dad she has.

I wish you guys wouldn't talk so much during the songs. I was pretty disappointed you guys talked completely through Rebecca's Reprise, it's one of my favorite songs and moments of the whole show
