Schitt's Creek, Season 3, Episode 12

Imagine Nat

I like that Moira still admits they were happy before with all the money because it feels authentic. It's not that they've become disillusioned with the lavish comfort they used to have, but they've come to value this simpler life too.

I think the thing about David and Patrick’s hug, as well as how long it was, was David’s expression as he was doing it. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying it and comfortable hugging Patrick. We know David had intimacy issues and is very guarded emotionally, so the ease with which he hugs Patrick really hits me. It’s so relaxed and natural.

I'm really proud of SO MANY of the characters in this episode: Proud of David for what he accomplished Proud of Alexis for finishing her GED Proud of Moira & Johnny for letting go (and for how proud they are of their children) Proud of Ted for establishing boundaries when he doesn't yet fully trust Alexis

I can really sympathize with David, as well-intentioned as they were, his parents absolutely destroyed his professional confidence when he found out that they solely responsible for the success of his galleries and then he may or may not have been responsible for the death of the Blouse Barn. The soft opening idea makes so much sense because he is just so terrified he is going to fail again, or worse that his taste (that which he takes most pride in) is not as good as he thinks, so people will not be impressed by his store. Regardless of whether David and Patrick are romantic or not, I think the hug shows how much trust and gratitude David actually has towards Patrick, a person who has supported him and helped him make his dream a success. In fact, arguably Patrick has done more to help David succeed in his goals than any other person on the show so far... even Stevie.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but the show is basically Breaking Good - the character arcs from start to finish are very rewarding. And yes, that tension between Ted and Alexis is *a lot.*

I'm sure they were very happy and would be very happy if they still had money. They have definitely come to appreciate the smalls things now.

I feel like Patrick is gunna teach David things about himself that he didn't know. Like to believe in himself and to be a much calmer person.

Patrick really has. In a handful of episodes he has been more than generous with David, the question is why?
