Oh no, it's not the rock bottom yet :-) And I love the Zoo song too!

Yeah, the only thing that was keeping me with Rebecca my first watch was knowing that at some point she has to hit rock bottom and seek help. And every horrible thing she does is just gonna make the moment she finally lands back on Earth so much harder. Even though I'm mad about all the horrible decisions she makes, I still feel bad for her knowing something serious has to be wrong for her to feel all this is justified. She's lucky to have friends who care so much about her, because I think a lot of people irl would just give up on her. The next episode is really important, and episode 5 is one of my favorites of the season.

there's just one "rock bottom" for Rebecca and it's approaching fast. you will not like it :/ loving the reactions, and I am glad that you are appreciating the songs, as some of them are masterpieces, imho ^^

Of course there's an explicit version of "I Go To the Zoo"! (You don't think Nathaniel actually meant "I ain't MESSING with no zebras, do you?) Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEhTmETAt9A I liked your Lonely Island idea, and the song also takes visual (those silhouettes!) and aural elements from Drake's "Hotline Bling": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxpDa-c-4Mc I'm SO GLAD you're spending more time on the songs in the summations at the end! The songs are a big part of what makes this series unique, and you get that. As for "rock bottom," well... stay tuned.

Just got 2 of my top 5 songs these last two episodes (buzzing in the bathroom and I go to the zoo). Such fantastic performances. But oof things are really spiraling now. Hold on to that joy you had watching I go to the Zoo, you're gonna need it

I think for me there's two rock bottoms: the cringe one and then the serious one.

As a librarian, the running joke about Joyce Carol Oates gets to me.

One of my coworkers and I literally became great friends because of “I Go to the Zoo.” I had recommended the show to her, and the week after she watched this episode she was on vacation and went to the zoo. She texted me a picture of cheetahs that said, “my favorite’s probably the cheetahs.” And then I got a different text with a picture of zebras that said, “but I ain’t ****ing with no zebras.” (Yes, please listen to the explicit version!) Since then it’s a running thing in our friendship. Any zoos or aquariums, and we send each other pictures with the lyrics.

Something that I didn't think about on my first watch is that while it's easy to think of Father Brah as on Josh's side (since they're childhood friends), he's also Paula's priest, or at least he's the one she went to for marriage counseling. And I Go to the Zoo is absolutely one of my favourites from this show, which is a high bar to clear!

I forgot that he is Paula's priest as well! Yes I've been singing it non stop, much to the dismay of my co workers lol.

"...that was like a Lonely Island sketch" - YES! Now I know why this is one of my favorite songs.
