Mad Men, Season 2, Episode 13

Actuarial Lurker

I had been holding off to avoid spoilers- now that you've seen it- Don tells Peggy to move on and pretends that there are no consequences to life. Peggy IS religious and doesn't want to be pushed and the Priest convinces her- indirectly- that the only way she CAN have closure and peace IS to confess to Pete about the baby. She may never get over the guilt of giving the child away but she confronts her secrets and moves past them while Don just buries them and tries to make them go away- buying off his step-brother and not realizing he might kill himself since he had nobody in his life....So I view the big arc of Season 2 is that Peggy is realizing her potential- doing the Popsicle ads, prepping Pete and Don for the conference in California, asking Sterling for Freddie's office....while Don is stagnant because he runs away from his problems.

"Post Coital Chicken" - what a missed opportunity for an episode title... Originally airing on October 26, 2008, 'Meditations in an Emergency' is Episode 13 of Season 2 of Mad Men. It is the 26th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.9, placing it as the #1 ranked episode of this season and #3 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Peggy is definitely as strong as Don is but in a different way, she's been crushing it lately and we are absolutely fans of her character.
