Watching you two cringe during the wedding reception got me laughing out loud! Even though it's sometimes hard to watch, I think it's good to see Midge bombing and making mistakes throughout her journey, rather than having a very unrealistic easy time of it. Also, this episode helped us see Joel as a more relatable character who's growing and changing. I'm really appreciating this show even more the second time around, knowing where it leads. The development and progression of the characters and story are masterful.

I rewatch this show a lot, but I always skip that wedding scene. Cringe is not at all my thing. S1E1 starts in September 1958, S2E3 takes place approximately in February 1959, and next episode jumps to June/July 1959.

You can really feel the growth of the characters. There's no one really "hateable" on the show and yet the characters aren't all happy go lucky, it's not Ted Lasso. It's completely complex and feels really unique.
