I Can Work With You

The little song between Rebecca and Greg, and then the one sung by Rebecca to the baby, are reprises of "Hello, Nice To Meet You," the song in which Rebecca & Greg "met all over again" in a series of meet-cute scenarios, when he returned to town recently. As you immediately saw, "Sports Analogies" is total Rat Pack -- drinks, cigarettes, black-and-white cinematography, and all. I love that they got the actors of Josh's and Nathaniel's fathers back for a 5-second silent joke as background to a song!

I think the idea of a song ranking after it's all over is a wonderful notion. Maybe before you do that, you could consider a Reaction to the series of 4 YouTube videos that a fan compiled displaying the musical/visual models for each song side by side with the songs. The whole list takes half an hour, and as it's on YouTube it can be shown as is, with no copyright problem and no need to mute or sync. I think you'd enjoy it, and it'd be a fun way to remind yourselves of all 150 songs quickly. (I can supply the link.)

I think the main difference between Nathaniel and Greg is that Rebecca did not get a super satisfying closure with Greg since Greg was the one who decided to move on, not Rebecca. She did say goodbye to the ghost of Greg but that is not the same thing. In contrary, she has rejected Nathaniel voluntarily at least three times in the show and for reasons that seem to align with the mental journey she is having. Obviously, at this point, Nathaniel has changed quite a lot but perhaps not enough to seem like a whole new person (as Greg does). It is also a bit unclear imo what Nathaniel is looking for in Rebecca. Is he truly interested, or is he looking for same type of healing and closure in Rebecca as Rebecca was looking for in Josh?

I must also add that the love, ehrm, quadrangle? gets a bit messy in S4, and you don't know which man to root for or if you should root for anyone. But it also makes the show quite special in my eyes. It is pretty typical for many romantic and comedic shows to paint certain men as desirable and heroic and other men as losers but in CXG, almost every man in West Covina can be both super attractive and super annoying, sometimes even at the same time.

I don't know if I want her to end up with any of them at this point. I just want them all to end up in a good place.

So lets just brush over the fact that Paula briefly held them hostage (something that people crapped on Rebecca for in season 2 and somehow justified Paula being a bi*** to the girls that night) I guess because it is Paula she gets a pass, like always. But it is also crummy that she 1 chose a law game when only one other person there is actually a lawyer, and she got to be on a team with her husband. Okay, that all sounds totally fair.
