Actuarial Lurker

Now we saw way Ted was introduced as a rival early in the season opener about someone chasing his heels and then directly in the Chrysanthemum and the Sword episode with Honda etc- he is the Duck Phillips replacement for now after the Suitcase Episode and we revel in the long-game writing of the show

Dashed hopes- Don has found an equal in Faye his business is falling apart, Pete is finally becoming a father as the company is faltering, Peggy has found a new guy and post-suit case episode she is becoming Dons peer and Anna's replacement and she may need to start over at another ad agency where she could become "just a secretary" and all her self-denial for work will be moot...

Not fun to be on the other end of the Ayn Rand gun....i.e. GloCoat tossing Don under the bus

I think Don wasn't too impressed with the size of the account cause she said it was vinegar, sauces and beans and didn't mention ketchup (maybe?)

In late summer 1965 Don is 39, turning 40 in Spring 1966 as Dick Whitman in Meagan is I believe around 22

Actuarial Lurker

Frankly aI this point in the show I found Meagan conniving- she is an aspiring actress and artist who "wants to do what Don and Peggy does" and sleeps with Don to get it....

It's FAYE Miller who is the blonde business psychologist....just being picky

I agree-that division of Heinz was probably $5-$8 Million- about the size of the Vicks cough drop upgrade that Pete weasel out of his father in law- and NOT nearly the just under $30 Million Lucky Strike would have grown into by now in later 1965 (when it was $25 Million at the end of 1963 when they swiped the account)

Sure felt like Megan was the seducer in that scene... Originally airing on October 3, 2010, 'Chinese Wall' is Episode 11 of Season 4 of Mad Men. It is the 50th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.3, placing it as the #11 ranked episode of this season and #20 out of all the episodes shown so far.

I think Megan basically telling Don it could be a no strings attached situation was exactly what he wanted to hear. IMO that whole situation started off as her genuinely trying to be helpful, and then once it got flirtatious she made a move (even when he's a mess Draper still looks good haha), and we know how little self-control Don can have. I don't really think she comes off as conniving or manipulative - maybe a bit naive, but it's definitely another potential mess Don is creating when he doesn't need to.

I think Meagan seduced him and she knew exactly what she’s doing. The way she talked, the same she moved. She was flirting the whole time and has been. The parallels on Don’s and Roger situation on those shots in the couch was pretty cool. Both ladies were wearing yellow and seemed happy and content. The way they were sitting was the same too and both wanted to make their men happy. The only difference was that Roger looked miserable and Don looked so guilty(at least to me).

That's a good point. Don is guilty as hell. Roger is miserable as hell. You know what? They both deserve it too lol.
