I just love Nathaniel but the ending scene is very sweet.

One thing I enjoy about the 3 dates is that 2 of them went drastically wrong -- Nathaniel messed up the calendar, and Greg's car broke down -- and the participants had a really nice time anyway. Of the many things I love in "Love's Not a Game," there are two that really stand out for me: 1. David Hull (White Josh) is a hell of a musical theater performer, and hasn't had much chance to show it on the series. He was in the ensemble of the most recent How To Succeed... revival, and in fact was Daniel Radcliffe's understudy. 2. Donna Lynne Champlin (Paula) is a wonderful tap dancer (she was winning big competitions in her teens) and hasn't previously been given the chance to show it on the show. That's because the show runners decided they shouldn't have more than one tap number per season; and in season 1 we had the Fred/Ginger "Settle for Me," in season 2 "We Tapped That Ass," and in season 3 Josh had his Gene Kelly-esque "Head in the Clouds." But finally Paula got her moment in season 4.

On the topic of future series. I don't know the experience from the inside the way you guys do, so I may be totally ignorant here. But I see reactions to The Good Place on YouTube all the time (I always follow them), one of which started very recently, and they're able to include a decent amount of material from the show. For what it's worth.... For an alternative, if one turns out to be necessary, there's another musical, Galavant. It was an ABC show, 18 half-hour episodes in 2 seasons. It doesn't cut deep like CXG, it's a silly but fun medieval spoof story with songs by Alan Menken (known for Little Shop, and Disney Renaissance flicks like Beauty and the Beast). I've seen reactions on YouTube, but not many.

I always get excited when I see Paula walking into Home Base wearing that bright colored shirt under her blazer. It's not obvious, but everyone else is also wearing a bold colored button-up shirt as part of their outfit....in preparation for that big musical number! Whee! Also, this is the first time that I made the realization about Rebecca and Greg's final food choice: tacos. It's like full circle with their first real date: the taco festival.

I'm so glad you guys watched this show, it has been one of my favorites for years and I love when it gets recognition. It's a bittersweet feeling knowing that you will be finishing this wonderful show but so happy I got to tag along for the ride. If I could recommend a few shows that might fill the void of CXG, I would recommend first Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. It's another musical show, though has a bit of a different tone, style, and plot from this one. It uses well known music instead of original songs, but the singers and the story of the songs are fantastic. Skylar Astin plays one of the leads and is a different type of character, but still lovable and has some great songs. The overall tone of the show is a little more dramatic, but still is funny and light most of the time. Another show that is perfect for the lightheartedness you are looking for would be Community. It's become one of my favorite shows of all time and has some of the best comedic writing of any show, especially since it was underrated and overlooked during it's initial run but blew up because of streaming. In any case you have been thinking of any of these, some good options would also be; Don't Trust the B---- In Apt. 23, What We Do In The Shadows, and Galavant. You guys are amazing, thank you and can't wait for the finale and concert! :)

I'm back to your Patreon for the CEG finale - so excited to see your reaction! and about The Good Place - that's another one of my favourites and I'd love to see your reactions to it. maybe consider a different platform other than YouTube, so it doesn't get blocked so much?

Well we kinda rely on Youtube. We're gunna try it out and we haven't given up hope yet! Welcome back! Glad you're here. :)

I've been thinking of alternative (funny) TV series. here are a couple that came to mind, though not all of them are sit-coms or comedies per se: Community (sit-com), The Librarians (a fantasy version of Doctor Who, in a way), Good Omens (it's a lot of fun but not always 100% funny; also, it's short), Umbrella Academy (sci-fi, very funny, very confusing). I will also second the rec for Galavant because it is pretty much the only other musical TV series I've seen. I remember being very enamoured with the concept (but the execution is not as brilliant as CEG is).

Youtalkingtome

Several people have suggested Galavant. I have no idea what it is or have never seen a trailer. So...it could be really fun.

I would 100000% watch Joe’s proposed The Golden Golden Bachelor, but only under the following condition: The long-stemmed roses in the “Rose Ceremony” are replaced with sticks featuring pictures of Betty White’s face, and the query of “Will you accept accept this Rose Nylund?”

Honestly, if it is a choice between Nathaniel, Greg and Josh, here is my ranking: 1st, Josh has never ever even been in the running, and he never will be. 2nd, Nathaniel and Rebecca have a palpable sexual chemistry, and if it were me I would choose Nathaniel (though just barely, the choice between him and Greg is razor close). 1st, Greg all the way. They have more than just amazing chemistry, they are great together and get each other.

Youtalkingtome

I agree with you! Greg is the man and as toxic as they were in the beginning. They are really cute together.
