Are you no longer able to post the videos privately on YouTube? I strongly prefer watching them there to watching through the Patreon site.

Gonna watch tomorrow! Thanks for the drop guys.

The Stackhouse character was very very good in this episode.

Casinos dont deal blackjack from a one deck shoe is because it increases the variance of results. one bad shuffle and they are paying out loads to one or 2 lucky players. They use a shoe that holds 6 decks all shuffled together to smooth out variance and keep the results largely within a standard deviation that assures them profitability. Blackjack has the worst odds for the casino, but it is still in their favor so they have to protect their financial interest.

Weird Magic

Stackhouse saying he's dropping out of the race and immediately fading into being a nobody like everybody else is one of my favorite shots of the series.... Originally airing on October 9, 2002, 'The Red Mass' is Episode 4 of Season 4 of The West Wing. It is the 70th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 7.7, placing it as the #18 ranked episode of this season and #68 out of all the episodes shown so far.

You didn't pick it up but I love how Josh says "I don't know if the President is thinking about Kant/Plato but I'm pretty sure he's considering all of it" and then, in the conversation with CJ and Sam about the debates, the president is going off in flights of rhetoric about Cicero. It's such good set-up and pay-off.

Did you notice the extra that moves in front of him. I clocked it the first time and I had to go back and watch again. He's got this big grin on his face lmao

I am so devastated that current politics (certainly here in Hungary, but my best guess is, all over the world) are going away from real debate, clash of arguments, comparison of issues and views. Instead, we just get personality cults and shouting matches. So sad.

The quote about pilots not trusting their instruments is somewhat true, you don't really come out of the clouds upside down, but if you let it, certainly not straight as you have control over g-forces and you can make any situation feel like you're on the ground. There's a famous video of Bob Hoover pouring a glass of ice tea while doing a barrel roll. Do this in clouds and you have no idea you did a barrel roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9pvG_ZSnCc

The debate episode is amazing, but the best episode this season is probably the Christmas episode, boy do you have something to look forward to.

That video was amazing!! The thought process of which way to pour reminded me of a Larry Bird pass that I feel would be almost impossible for a physics professor to calculate. It was a no look bounce pass behind his head with reverse "English" so it avoids going out of bounds and bounces back in to his guy. Now I have to share it. In case it doesn't cue up at the right time like it's supposed to, the pass is at around 3:19. https://youtu.be/hcXv0JtzNQA?si=aOugXcEEcG2ZyPmr&t=197

Waco was 51 days. I remember coming home from high school and seeing it on CNN (before I of course smoked weed and ignored it, because, well, high school...)

JVTrickypants

"It's 100% more debates!!" is a great line lol

Bizarrely (considering the size of your country) Hungary / Orban was getting quite a lot of airtime over here. Probably would have been greater / ongoing, except for the fact that Tucker Carlson set fire to his own shoes or something.

Weird Magic

My screen name is weird MAGIC - how dare thee mention the hick from French Lick!

Tezz Parker

Aaron Sorkin leaves the show after season 4. Can’t wait to get your perspective on the difference in writing.

Weird Magic

IMO - it's negligible at best - a lot of Sorkinites want to claim the show went downhill but I just don't see it. Is it different? Slightly...but the characters and universe he built was so strong that it doesn't really matter that he (and as importantly Tommy Schlamme) left.

Youtalkingtome

That's good to hear but I'm still really nervous. You get comfortable with something for so long, you don't want it to change. I still have faith in the show!

Cosmic Slice

Knowing what is coming up, especially this season...I am bouncing with excitement to see your reactions. I never get tired of watching this show no matter how many times I've seen it but it's cool to watch it with people who have never seen it. :)
