The song at the beginning was about King Robert. Not Ned. The guy was singing it at taverns making fun of Robert, who joffery still believed is his father. So he forced the guy to sing it to him and then punish him for making fun of King Robert

That season ending is one of my favorite moments in television history. I’ve read the books multiple times and it’s a little more weird in the books, (not usually, but for this moment) I prefer the show’s portrayal of it.

Jack Gleeson who plays Joffrey is such a great actor. I watched part of an audition tape of his where they asked him to deliver the line "Oh look, it's sunny outside" as a "normal" person and then again as a villain might say it. He managed to make even that line sound super creepy.

You guys haven't seen Stannis yet but you HAVE seen Renly. He sat on King Robert's small council, and when Robert died Renly approached Ned and asked for Ned's help to seize the throne. But Ned said no because Stannis Baratheon, who is older than Renly, is the next in the legitimate line of succession.

Yeah, I honestly cant take it anymore. The tangents and theorizing that come from complete misunderstanding of very basic lore is painful as hell. Doesn't seem like they even read the comments where there are plenty of well written polite corrections to keep in mind between episodes. This was the only reason I subscribed, maybe ill check back in a few months.

The show is based on books so getting mad at the writers for major plot events is not their fault. Getting mad over small choices is fine as not all the things follow the books 100% but major plot lines like Ned dying was not their choice to make. Love the reactions though!

is cerise evil though? think about it this way...what would happen to her children if found out...she didn't push bran. But she still had her children to think about...tell me if king Robert found out who the real father was what do you think would happen? she didn't want Ned to get executed.... In fact, she did try to reason with Ned...giving her side of the story...which was totally understandable and Ned didn't care one bit. Pretty much writing her and her children a death sentence...should she have just rolled over?

I absolutely love the description in the books of the funeral pyre and the dragons’ hatching! The show did a good job. But I don’t think they captured nearly enough of the magic of the scene. I would’ve loved to have had them put the comet appearing in the night sky as well.
