Violet

I'm not even halfway through the reaction and I've already spit coconut oil all over my lap and I've also spit my diet Mountain Dew all over my couch! You two are genuinely the funniest reactors I've ever come across you both are freaking hilarious, and I feel really bad for the people who are ditching the patreon too early or aren't going to join up at all because they are really missing out!!!

BrendaPerry / GramBree

I really enjoyed this! I read Dune when I was in high school ...a long ass time ago... and enjoyed the 80s movie...I found these newer movies absolutely stunning! 🥰

Two of my kids and I keep track of all the movies we watch every year and then do a top 10 list (each). In 2024, Dune: Part Two was the #1 movie of the year on all three of our lists and that has never happened before or since. But please please talk about the movies more at the end of each reaction. I would love to hear some analysis, favorite parts, maybe quotes that had an affect on you. And like I said before, maybe have some trivia pulled up and ready to go (iMDb) because that's always fun. I think the analysis and reaction to the full movie once it's over is a vital part of the reaction video as a whole. <3 You guys are the best.

Perry Taliaferro

Great, great movie and I love you guys, love your reactions and happy to be a Patreon supporter. But...Mike... man... you stopped this movie far too many times just to praise it. Hahaha EDIT - And Sting... yes THAT Sting... played the psycho Feyd Harkonnen in the first Dune movie Edit 2 - "Looks like a grandfather worm... That's what they call ours" :D Awesome

DoomGummy

Millions die of starvation, billions die overall, in the war

Renvier

would love to see reaction of you guys watching the trailer for dune 3

GREAT movie, and reaction. However, I HATE what they did to Chani in this movie. In the books, she supported Paul the entire time and was on board with his political marriage. Her and Jessica even mocked the princess saying you may be his wife and Empress in title, but you will never be loved. Your life will be cold and empty. History will remember the concubines of Leto and of Paul. I feel like it was an unnecessary drama to invent for these movies... and btw, Frank Herbert wrote his many sequels in part because people viewed Paul as a hero, and that was NOT the message. He wrote sequels to drive home how Pauls empire slaughtered billions. He is a tyrant and the head of a fanatical jihadist cult. It's a cautionary tail about religious fundamentalism amongst other things. All of his books spend enormous amounts of time in dialogue, and internal monologue waxing philosophical about the justifications of slaughtering billions to save trillions, etc.

I find it hard enough when I get sand in ma egg sandwich!

Alex J.

The only movie I saw multiple times in theaters.

Kipper87

Mike, there was a moment there when you said "I'm not reacting at all". That's okay, speechlessness & observation is a reaction on its own too. You don't need feel the need to say something just to say it. Much love <3

Omar Reeves

I love the reactions but yall blur a lot for Patreon. Save the blur for YouTube

Kylezart

17:10 they were taking the recycled water from their stillsuits, not their bodies 😂

Great reaction, can tell you are COMPLETELY invested and appreciative. It's an artistic masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve in my opinion is, right now, the best modern Director/writer of our time. Matt Reeves is up there too (you absolutely must watch The Planet of the Apes trilogy) with Christopher Nolan and Darren Aronovsky being a joint 3rd, not forgetting J.A Bayona (he doesn't do much but what he does do is unforgettable - The Impossible will wreck you). I don't think Denis has done a bad movie and the difference is that his movies feel extremely immersive and real. If you can put yourself through the original Blade Runner movie with Harrison Ford (it's a bit dated but awesome) you would be rewarded with Blade Runner 2049 Directed by Denis which is another masterpiece. Glad you loved it, you were bound too - maybe you'll watch the third at the cinema and reward yourself :)

I love your reactions so much thats why i subbed here. But no offense the reaction unfortunetly showed that when it comes to dicatorships you guys are the people a dictator wants. you blamed shani several times in the movie that she is angry at paul and even worse that she was mad at jessica. Jessica and Paul enslaved a entire culture into a religious dicatorship that relys on a "savior" that is in the end a boy that wants revenge for his father. Even if you guys want to say "but some prophcecis were fullfilied wich i dont agree with, even then it makes no sense to think that it would be good to make paul a dictator that is seen as a savior. The creator of the books warned unfortunetly exactly that people like you guys get someone like paul into power. Does him beeing powerful, or surviving the water of life make him good in financial matter? as soon as the war ends he has to take care of that. does it make him good in social politics? knowledge about other planets? Nothing of the sort. And thats why the author made it clear that so called prophets nearly always nothing else than a danger to society. Im not saying you 2 are stupid or so, because the funny thing is most of the reactors had the same reactions and also thought shani might be wrong. Paul is exactly what we should fear and prevent in real life. i can only ask you to fix your view and watch maybe this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhRHQDm2dBs and after that maybe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seSbnlkpBbQ

Mikey... have you checked out ceramic frying pans? I have one, and it's amazing for pancakes. You can get them for around 100 bucks.

Christopher Altamirano

Mike has blown me away by how much he is into this story, understands, and is consistently the one to make assumptions and be the first person to explain things. Normally he acts a little clueless and its Sean who leads the way with the predictions and theories. I'm really digging the enthusiasm so far man!

Sasuuchi

Damn I love you guys. Best moment in day, just sit down and enjoy another great reaction!

Weston Roberts

Promise you'll wait to watch the third one until you can record the reaction!!

A Romanian named Andrei

Love this idea. Would love a 5-10 minute chat at the end about the movie.

Oh! About the worm riding scene - not sure if anyone has mentioned this already - but the worms have segments. When the Fremen ride a worm they use hooks to latch on to the edge of a segment, and lift it open. This causes the worms to stay at the surface since the sand irritates them when it gets under the segments. This is also how they steer: you reduce the tension on one side and the worm sinks a little more in that direction. Also - something that kind of gets lost in the first movie - the Bene Geserit make up pretty much every powerful woman in every planet. They have a ton of control, and one of the things they’ve done (including on Dune) is to tell the local population about “prophecies”. The goal being in part that if they ever need to do so in the future, they can come to those planets and “re-enact” their story, making it seem like those prophecies are coming true. That’s why Paul is so conflicted in the first movie. He’s like “Mom, the prophecy is just a thing the Bene Geserit told these people and you want us to pretend like we’re the people in the prophecy in order to gain power”

A Romanian named Andrei

I know where you’re coming from but that feels a little mean. They finally get a chance to see one of these in theaters in its full splendor and they’d have to wait 6 months for it to be on home video?

Dakota Yates

I'm on my 3rd time watching now lol

Tim Wayne

When dealing with prophecies, death, birth, "is born in the south", "if you drink, you will die, if you drink, you may see". These are all metaphors. Think of it like the Tarot: death is also great change. Birth is often re-birth or coming into one's own power (e.g. "i was born in the summer of my 27th year" - John Denver).

Tim Wayne

Now that it's been a couple months, watch it again on your own. No banter, just full attention on the movie. See if you pick up more. It's a masterpiece.

That Bald Bastard

I know im a little bit late to that thread, and i know i have a big ask, but could you please please please with a cherry on top DONT watch DUNE 3 in cinema when it comes out? Its one of my favorite universes and id love to see your fresh reaction when it will finally be available to be watched at home

Ladyjaded

I was wondering that myself, why they were blurring for Patreon? Never seen that.

Ladyjaded

The Impossible and Society of Snow got to me! The director for these movies is so gifted they should watch both.

Omar Reeves

Yea someone got mad at me talking about copyright and I’m like there is absolutely no way they’ll only just pick on these 2 guys. No one else has any problems

Ladyjaded

Huh… strange. I dunno. 🤷‍♀️

Kylezart

Still waiting for a mug with 'Harkkonen Porridge' on it 😂😂🤣

Kylezart

Was it the Harkkonen Poridge bit? 😂😂🤣

Violet

Omg yes, that freaking KILLS ME!!

Violet

I'm with you on this I vote that they watch it the first time on the channel and then go see it in the theater that way we get the fresh reaction
