Hey guys,
That was a crazy month that just happened.
I took a bittersweet trip to see my kids in California and one of them is suffering from some mental health issues. As a dad, it was very hard to hear what had been happening in his life. But I was strong for him and reassured him that I love him no matter what.
There was also some fallout on YouTube comments and I’ve decided, on the advice of friends and even my therapist, to stop reading the comments. Now you have to understand, when you do radio for 39 years, you get some thick skin. This stuff is an area I’m not used to though. I have insecurities, unlike radio, that ravage me when I am trying to find my footing.
In some ways, it’s great. I am learning something new and I love the challenge of getting it right. But holy crap, when you’re already hurting and people are being vicious… let’s just say… I lost my freaking mind and yelled at some people.
Anyway, I fixed it.
I also got into a car accident that left me completely unhurt but messed my car up pretty good. You know what that is though? That’s just life. Stuff happens, you fix it and move on.
When Sean and I hit record and we start watching something… I am in my utter and complete happy place. I am so in my element and just love hanging out with that guy. Most of you will never know Sean. He’s hard to get to know. I’m still getting to know him after over 25 years of friendship and he’s one of my favorite people in the world.
I met someone and I like her a lot. I have no idea how it will turn out but for now, it feels really nice. I’m learning to trust and to just go along for the ride. Don’t over think it and just go with the flow.
I’m starting to get into a groove and life is feeling more bright, normal and easy.
I freaking love you guys. I really do. Thank you for all your support. You have no idea how much happiness you’ve given me with the love you show.
I love you very much y vete con Dios.
Your bud,
Mike
