Guys ... the way I barked out loud when you said "my niece said it was a thriller" 🤣🤣🤣 SHE HAS LIED TO YOU lol. This is 100% the horror movie of the year. I mean, everyone is reacting to it, so maybe she was trying to do you a solid but lol... it's for sure a horror movie. I didn't expect to see it on the channel because I knew you'd hate it. 🤣😅 *Incredible performances*, stellar work on a small budget (sound design and lighting 🤯), a great 'be careful what you wish for' movie all wrapped up in the social commentary of consent, abuse and 'nice guys'. Makes you feel absolutely sick inside. 10/10, no notes. Curray Barker, he's got a great career to look forward to.

I watched this before I caught your reaction and I agree. I was tripping over all the red flags 🤣!! N the subconscious of her true self reading out screamed volumes. She saw him selfishly keeping her trapped in her own mind and using her body so... fed the food critic his cat. This guy is so dumb it hurt to watch on so many levels. I mean I understand why he kept going( I do not approve of it) he got everything he wanted. But his survival instinct never kicked in so 🤷. Also I knew Sara was dead the moment he got the kiss her Jenga block. The texting n such after that was Bear signing Sara's death warrant.

Apparently the original ending had Nikki actually shooting herself, but the actress came up with the idea to have her wake up with the carnage all around her and the director agreed to go with it, which was a great call because it makes the ending 1000% more horrifying. I can't say I didn't enjoy watching the bickering this brought out in you guys, and love how much you enjoyed and commented on the production, but at the same time I genuinely felt really bad for Mike!!

Mike, I just want you to know that you're not alone. Horror affects me very very much. Jump scares almost traumatize me and the images stay inside my head for years. Probably due to past trauma. I don't really know anyone else who relates to that because to them, it's "just a movie". True, but I feel like you really understand the way I feel and I appreciate you going through this for the people who support you and want to be entertained.

So, literally, the actor who plays Nicky, who was phenomenal, only got paid about 20k.. producers took a gamble, which they rarely do anymore, on original, low budget content.. and it paid off big.. just wish the talent had gotten more..

I was trying to avoid adding another streaming service, and as this is on what I believe is the ONLY streaming platform I don't currently subscribe to, haha, (Peacock), I'll have to come back to this reaction. But that's fine. It means I will have something in the bank for later ;) Oh... and yes, I would love to see the guys watch the newer "IT" movies... and while I am here (and always pushing for this... I would also love to see them do the heartfelt/horror series Haunting of Hill House by Mike Flanagan. Scares? Some. Powerful family story? Hell yes!!

Obsession, is what happens when you choose the Bear instead of the man in the forest.. For real though.. amazing cinematography and Bear is the villain to me.. once he knew he was aware it was his spell causing her actions, the whole thing felt r*pey.. don’t know a better word to use there.. I watched another reaction to this after I saw it and a commenter in there said that Niki’s behavior was essentially the manifestation of Bear’s obsession with her. I can see that. I saw the exorcist young, too. Parts when I was 9 and full through at 12.. I slept the entire Summer with my lights on. It doesn’t scare me anymore, it’s one of my favorite films— but up until maybe 6, 7 years ago, if I saw a clip, image unexpectedly, I’d get a trauma response, like a little mini panic attack.. So yeah,, imo, the film pays homage and runs parallels to a few different horror movies.. but had its own unique take and flair. I saw exorcist influences and a few others I won’t mention in case they are ever covered on the channel.. I need sleep..😴 late night out & bunch of work & meetings today, but I’ll be on that GoT reaction as long as I’m not sleeping.. Hope everyone has an excellent day!!

I'm impressed that Sean managed to convince Mike to watch the movie to the end. Kudos for Your patience. Your niece probably wasn't aware that someone could be so sensitive to scary movies, and this one really isn't the scariest. A few scenes, as she said, but psychologically worth watching. Good job, both of you Gentlemen :)

Same here Alissa. I get triggered and things stay with me. I’m so sorry for your past trauma. ((Hugs)). I never watched this movie before because I heard things. Then they practically open on a dead cat! What? Thank goodness it looked like a stuffed animal. Then as the movie progressed I started really hating Bear and I actually said out loud ‘well now we know why the poor cat unalived herself’. I woke up this morning thinking about this movie! It’s going to just stay in my head forever now. The acting was A+ though so I’m happy I saw it.

If my suggestion on the recent suggestion of films comes up ignore it. It was the Ring 2002 lol, that would be too extreme and you wouldn't like it, it has very scary bits and don't want to subject Mikey to it, didn't know he was THAT not into horrors. Not a slasher but a horror thriller mystery. It would be to much :)

I think Bear crosses the line into Evil, what he does with the evidence is disgusting. The male friend is not Evil but is manipulative and not a friend to anyone. Nikki and her friend are so hard done by by Bear. Its not scary for me but sad

Since you might rewatch it a second time, definitely go into it from Nikki’s perspective of being trapped inside your own body and having your autonomy completely stripped from you. And you’ll realize just how early on in the film that Bear realizes it’s the wish making her do these things and he continues to make selfish choices throughout. That’s the real horror of the film and that’s why it’s resonated with so many people. His turning point isn’t when she begs him to kill her, it’s at the restaurant. Horrifying.

Ngl Mikey’s comment in the beginning about girls “leaving breadcrumbs” for their guy friends when she said that Bear was the only person she could talk to about certain things kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I understand that he’s Gen X, so there’s a bit of a generational divide, so I extend some grace. Every relationship is different. Every situation requires nuance, not everything is black and white you know? While some women are out there that string guys a long for the flattery are definitely out there in the world, that’s usually not the case. I’ve said it to guy friends and MEANT it, but in a platonic way. It would be no different than me telling one of my girl friends the same thing. I think it’s okay to develop feelings in friendships; hell, it’s even happened to me. I’ve even face rejection. But you accept it and move on. It’s also happened the other way around where a guy friend developed feelings for me and I didn’t feel the same way. The guys that accepted that I don’t feel the same moved on (even if it took a while) and are happily in relationships and are actually still in my life. Still great friends, I get along great with their partners too, and there are ZERO weird vibes. But there have also been instances where they take it VERY badly. It’s disappointing when you think you have a genuine friendship, but then realize a guy was only treating you kindly because he expected sex or a relationship somewhere down the line. Then it makes you question your worth. Because was the friendship ever real at all? Was I not worth having as a friend without the possibility of having sex with you? I’ve actually been cussed out and basically told they wouldn’t have wasted their time being my “friend” since I wasn’t going to sleep with them. I have no more contact with those guys, and it’s a shame because the friendship was real on my end. I think Mikey probably DOES have a more nuanced take after watching the movie, and I feel like he’d appreciate having other perspectives. I don’t hold anything against him, and this movie is such a great topic for opening up discussions like this and perspectives we haven’t previously given thought to. There’s a reason this movie blew up!😂

Maybe next time you guys watch a movie like this, Mike should just go outside for a 10min break to calm down so he can continue watching it. Poor Mike, but this is good for him, when a person has a phobia, the best way to treat it is exposure to it. Mikey, I too am a pansy-ass when it comes to horror. ESPECIALLY supernatural horror. The only way I can watch scary movies is through reactors like you, so thank you for your sacrifice. I dunno. I'm not a fan of most horror, but I really liked The Ring. Despite some minor jumpscares, it mostly relies on being creepy rather than scary. Lots of moments that make the hairs on your arm stand up.

This 100% feels like it could have been written by Stephen King. In the scenes like the "scene" in the restaurant, and "stAYYY!", it felt like the director told her to think of a toddler that always gets anything it wants by screaming. Just another way ot making her behavior seem creepier and more aberrant.
