The kid at the end is Cergei's youngest Tommen. You might not remember they only mention his name once or twice before when they talked about tommen and myrcella.

When Serge punched Lancel she punched him where he was wounded from the battle. He was badly wounded so it was extra mean because she did it on purpose. That's why he fell so dramatically. Really awesome reaction! I love it when you do Good Fellas lines - I too have seen that movie so many times I can recite it! This episode is in everyone's top five GoT episodes - I was so excited for this reaction. You guys didn't disappoint. Love ya!

you guys called Stanley "dumb" after the wildfire bomb. remember that, of all the "would be" kings claiming the throne, he is the most battle tested commander. so after he killed Renly and absorbed his little brother's army, he outnumbered King's Landing by more than double. a seige was the best strategy. Cergay punched Lorel in the chest were he was wounded earlier in the siege Cergay has 3 kids. Joffrey, Tommen, and Mercella.

You dont even realize how well you've clocked the plot at times. Haha. This is by far my favorite watch through of GOT. the old gods and new gods being on the fence about whether the city is lost or not had me cracking up! 😂😂

Just a clarification on the battle, stannis had over 10,000 men and kings landing(lannister’s) had around 2,000 men. When the wild fire exploded it only took out the leading element of the fleet which was maybe a dozen or little more ships. So when they started attacking the city they had probably around 9,000 or more men left. Until Tywin Lannister’s reinforcements with house Tyrell showed up with over 15,000 men to win the day.

Also the little boy with Cersei at the end of the episode is her youngest son Tommen who is technically the heir to the iron throne after Joffrey since he has no children yet.

This is an awesome episode, but I wish they included the chain. In the book, Tyrone has a massive chain forged that blocks the ships from leaving the bay. So, they all get caught up in the fire. I know you guys don't do documentaries, but this battle is based on the great battle for Constantinople launched by Mekhmet the Great. Netflix has a docu-drama called Rise of Empires where they go through the battle. It's a limited series, and would be worth making an exception to the documentary ban for. Most of the show is acted out like a drama, with short asides by historians.

While objectively, I wouldn't say this is the best episode, I do mark it as an early standout..I still remember the first time I watched it, I was as blown away as the wildfyre.. And I still get excited when I hear the war drums and love re-watching it..I saw this dropped earlier and could not wait to finish my work to watch it..I've been working since 7am yesterday and ran into some frustrating, delaying issues, but deadlines don't care about those things..anyway, these are always a bright spot in my week I try to make time for..you guys are great..thanks!!

Lancel was wounded earlier in the episode somewhere in the chest, so when Cersei jabbed at him, it hit his wound, so he collapsed. He's still a Lil b*%$# for it, but yea, thats why he went down so hard.

Yeah, Tommen has only had screen time of about 12 seconds in the whole run time so far before this. The writers didnt do a great job of featuring the other children in early seasons.

So Loris Tyrell came riding into battle wearing Renly's armor with the stag helm; Stannis killing Renly is the reason the Tyrells went over to the Lannisters. Cersei was going to kill Tommen because he's in the line of succession and will be killed if Stannis wins. She doesn't want him to be butchered like the Targaryen children. That's why she was getting so sloshed all night and was even more bitter than usual. If they lost, she would have to give her child poison.

Cersei punched Lancel in his open wound haha Cersei's youngest boy Tommen was with her at the end and she was going to kill him with poison cuz Stannis would've murdered every Lannister in sight no questions asked. Tywin saved them The Hound told the king where to shove it! All the fans wished Sansa could've gone with him right then and there but not this time unfortunately 2 episodes a week please gentleman. In case it helps at all, it seems most other posts drop early in the morning, but GoT is often late evening. Recently it's been earlier in the evening, which has been great! Either way it's worth the wait, even if it means I watch the next day ;)

It's not mentioned much in the show, but there are a few times which are included where they say how undermanned Kings Landing is because most of the army is off with Tywin fighting Rob. That's why in Kings Landing they are so afraid of the siege. And Stannis really does have thousands and thousands of guys. I guess for budget they couldn't really show the scale of his fleet and army.

The big guy in the armour that slashes Tyrion in the face is the Kings Guard that was holding the banner for him (I think, or if not him it's the other one). That's why Tyrion is so shocked when his own Kings Guard goes to attack him.

If it's a Lannister kid hanging around with Cersei it's usually a Jamie byproduct. The giveaway is the blonde hair. What's fun is that it doesn't need to be spelled out directly because we get the info in Series 1 about the 'strong seed' of Robert with the dark hair, so in theory all of his real kids would have had dark hair. Funny how all of Roberts 'kids' actually have blonde hair!

I think this remains my favourite ep of the whole series. Also, catching up on these with the wife, it is so fun to go back and forth from laughing with the fellas to screaming at the screen at them being dum dums.

Many of the GoT fans actually would rewatch the entire series between seasons. while airing we would have to wait over a year some more than 2 years per season and at some point people would like to rematch all the seasons to refresh their memory before a new season. people seem to ignore that fact and get mad that you dont remember every detail that they have watched multiple times.

You two regret not seeing this when it came out, which is understandable, but now you have the advantage of not having to wait an entire year or more for the next season, you can just watch it all the way through, no breaks.

This episode is based on four chapters in the books. The battle is written in a very detailed and complex way, and goes back-and-forth from Tyrion and Sansa’s point of views. So there are a lot of stages of the battle where many things happen that advance other side.
