Katniss started to panic when she saw the fresh white rose at her home in District 12 because that means Snow was personally at her house and put it there. It was a message. It was a reminder of the last movie when he visited her home and sat in that room and asked her, "Do you want a real war?" and "You should imagine thousands upon thousands of your people dead." He put the rose there after the bombing as a way of saying "I told you this would happen."

I wasn't one of the people who commented anything about the relationship between Katniss and Gale, but most of the comments I saw were just trying to let you know that she was not "cheating" on him as they were not together; as opposed to there being zero attraction or the occasional kiss, which obviously there is. I think we all just wanted you to know that Katniss and Peeta weren't doing anything wrong by maybe exploring their connection. They weren't betraying anyone or hurting anyone else.

The hunger games is quite brutal, all the movies are PG-13 due to the mature themes of course. You mentioning the violence & that they don't hold back, but they kinda did compared to the books. If they stayed a bit more true to some events in the books, it would rated R. But PG-13 allows a bigger audience so they had to remove or downplay some of the stories brutality! The concept is already really messed up, I recommend the books if you want to know HOW messed up it is. President Snow , while wonderfully written, is such a malicious individual.

Thank you for sharing your personal story, Mike. I personally know how that feels; obviously you have to leave the details out but letting others know that you're still here because you asked God for help is truly helpful. I never let anyone know everything about my trauma, since 7 years old; unlike you expressing the pain thru drugs and alcohol , I pushed everything way down deep... always. I'm seeing a trauma Therapist now and thru EMDR I'm trying to rewire my brain to function in a normal way. God has always been IN my life: church, youth group, etc. But I never gave my life completely over to God until I was at rock bottom (as an adult) The road isn’t easy and the devil tries to take over daily but my God will never let me go. I'm HIS child and he loves me. Thank you again for sharing... you will reach more people with your testimony. I'm sure. God bless 💚

When Katniss went to her house in the Victor’s Village, you guys pointed out that Snow might have left her home standing as an example and you were correct. That’s the significance of the rose she found in the study. You both pointed out that the flowers in the vase were dead, but there was one rose that was fresh and it freaked her out. It was a message from Snow. He left her home standing amidst the rest of the rubble. In a sadistic move, he was leaving a message to her that he had been in her home and RECENTLY. Snow knew she’d come back to her home and find it. It’s so creepy.

Finally, I've never been so ready. On an edit note, they NEED to watch the Expanse, so we can feed his PIN collection. Another aside, I think it's important to remember that Gale being a revolutionary is what estranges him from Katniss. It's not that he's a player, or that he's unfit as a partner, it's that Katniss was never a revolutionary & what she needs is a healer or caretaker, not a revolutionary. You also missed that in the books, Ceasar has a whole other arc. He was attached to Rue & cried when she died. What he says later is key, Katniss will choose who she needs to survive. Who they are outside of her matters & Peeta was a gentle loving caretaking man willing to suffer to leave her food to eat when starving. Gale was willing to help or teach her to hunt, but he was never going to understand her trauma because the revolution was what he craved while it was what she feared. She was willing to marry Peeta to prevent a revolution to protect her sister. Gale did not know that kind of self sacrifice or restraint, & it results in their sundering. And finally, I won't spoil, but you'll love Senior Rep at the end. I will not explain why. But when it happens, you'll know. We all know.

I'm glad you felt brave enough to share your story Mikey ❤️ My own dad had a very similar history of abuse and self-medicating. Frankly, he was a terrible father growing up. A worse husband. My mom nearly died from a tumor that severed most of her spinal cord. They saved her, but I remember having to wake up my own dad every morning from his drunken stupor to get him up for work. I did laundry for my siblings. I lived mostly off of instant rice because I couldn't really cook for myself yet. I remember thinking he loved alcohol more than he loved us. It hurt so much. When I was older, I found out what he went through and it just hurt me to my core. No, it didn't excuse how we were treated, but when I was able to understand we were able to rebuild our relationship. It wasn't easy, and he also battled cancer. But he is now cancer-free and sober for 11 years now. I'm really proud of him, and any other person who is strong enough to ask for help. Mikey, I think sharing stories like yours is so important because so many people feel alone in their trauma or grief. I am a strong advocate for normalizing conversations about mental health and addiction. No matter how uncomfortable it may be

A very moving end, I myself have mental health issues that led to over 10 attempts on my life (I lost count) between 23 and around 36-37. I have not had any since then and I'm doing better, always talk straight to your family and doctor, they will help if you don't keep it inside and let it build, someone will miss you no matter what you think. On God, I believe but in my own way, I don't fault any who enjoy their religion and in fact admire them, its just my way of belief, I stive to be as good a person as I can. Currently I am hoping to build on my health problems and words like Mike's help. I beat drugs but not alcohol yet, WIP.

more than anything katniss is scared. she knows both these guys like her, and she feels something for each of them, but she is so clouded by fear for her life and her family that she can't clearly think about what she wants. remember, she isn't the average 16/17 year old whose biggest worry is who to go to prom with. even before the movies start, she is the primary breadwinner for her family in a town in crushing poverty. maybe she does like gale, maybe she does like peeta, but she has no room to breathe and figure out anything other than how to survive. the books also make clear that she has a big complex about owing people things. she doesn't know how to handle being indebted to someone because she has had to be independent for so long. she owes gale a lot for being her hunting partner and saving her family. but she also owes peeta for giving her the bread when they were children and being her rock through a lot of the games. this further complicates her feelings for both of them.

Thank you for your testimony at the end there, Mikey. ♡ It really hit home for me for many reasons, and now I'm crying at my desk at work, haha. I was a victim of religious & sexual abuse as a girl, and I know that anger. It's there to keep us alive, but if we can't find a way to release it when we no longer need it, it kills us instead. I used to react to any discussion of God with anger (fear and sadness) but was fortunate enough to spend the past 5+ years now with a really amazing therapist, haha. But most people don't get that luxury, and I appreciate you acknowledging that reality as it still sits for many people. While I will never choose Christianity for my own reasons, I still know God in my own way, and I know the healing power of God's love. Your story is so inspiring and moving. You have all my gratitude and respect and admiration for opening up and sharing with all of us. It's so important to remind the people around us that they're not alone, and I really love that you're using this platform for something so powerful. Anyone who watches this channel knows that Mikey likes to get memorabilia from a movie or show you guys are watching. The map of middle earth, elf ears, a Harry Potter wand, Gryffindor scarf, the marauder's map, a map of Westeros etc. So why is it a surprise that Mikey would get something from this trilogy since he expressed how much he's loving it. It just so happens that the symbol for these movies is a pin. If it were something other than a pin, Mikey would've still bought it and Sean wouldn't have gotten mad, right?

The "bombed the hospital" speech Katniss gives gets me every time, because this is happening in real life right now. And people are waking up to it, and it gives me hope. The Hunger Games is almost like what's going on in the world today.
