I’m sad I missed the live, but glad you posted it here for us. So this isn’t a spoiler bc I haven’t puzzled out an answer yet and if it was in the books, I forget.. and all I’m going to say is I think there is something with the milk of the poppy. And I’m mentioning it now bc you guys mention it a lot. I’m pretty sure that it IS their version of opiates in the world and we know it’s for pain. But, what I find the most fascinating about it, is that we have seen and you will see thru the show, certain characters, adamantly REFUSE to take Milk of the poppy, even in extreme pain and upon death. Like I said, I’m not sure about anything, but I am sure Martin has some reason for that. One of the shows many many theories.. I’m listening to the call portion right now and I absolutely disagree (respectfully,) with the caller about Varys and a lack of personal motive.. but more on that when u are further along. If you ever do another live for GoT, hope I can make it.. but I have to say, it was so great to let loose on sat and have some FUN for once, that’s not related to something I HAVE to do or an event I HAVE to go to.. and I only took notes for something ONCE!! Yeah, its better at mentioning in the books, that they were sent out to find out what Mance raider was doing gathering all the tribes. So Qorin Halfhand needed to die to ensure that Jon snow would have a chance of being taken into Mances camp without being killed right away.

The fact that you blame theon for hating stark in that moment is basically a form of stockholm syndrom. May i remember, he was taking as a child from his family (not a good one but his family), and he was only taken because they threatend to execute theon if balon were to rebell again. Yes you say a theon needs to be grateful that he was living in a nice slaughtering house were stark could take him any minute and say "you father rebelled i have to take your head now since i swore to do that" and starks keep their words. Sorry but asking theon to be thankful is stupid.

I would listen to the guy that called in about Varys.... It is completely understandable to distrust him because he is "The Spider" and has his little birds whispering secrets from every corner. But think about what happened to Ned Stark. Ned tried to protect the realm using pure honor, and it got his head chopped off. Varys knows that in a capital filled with ruthless people, you can't protect the peace just by being a good guy with a sword. You have to know everyone's dirty secrets before they strike. Think back to his conversation with Ned in the cell. Ned asks point-blank, "Who do you truly serve?" and Varys replies, "The realm, my lord. Someone must." He has no family name, no noble house, and no ability to have heirs. He isn't fighting for a crown or a legacy for himself; his spy network is just his way of leveling the playing field against people who only care about power.

Hey guys, Im not sure if you even want to know this, but in Game of Thrones the 9th episodes of every season are usually the climaxes aka the real season finale so they would be more suited for a livestream event. The 10th episodes are kinda like an aftermath.

In the opening scene when Two Chainz throws coins to Tyranny "for his troubles" it's a callback to when Tyranny burst into his room with soldiers to take him to the black cells. He gave a few coins to the girl for her troubles. Also, ❤❤❤ Queef Demon.

Theon was forcibly taken and reeducated, remade so he won’t be an ironborn. Forced culture replacement is considered a genocidal practice by UN (not sure I agree, but still). Yes, he was “remade” gently, but that makes it in some regard even worse, because at some point he returns to his father and he can’t even make excuse that he was tortured or smh. His people see him as reminder of humiliation of their house and traitor at the same time. His identity was erased, he wanted his father to accept him, he thought he could do it through bravery (and no, he isn’t a complete coward, at least now), but due to this personality split he has too many internal issues that make him insecure. He is a bad person here, but definitely understandably bad, I have sympathy for him. He is not like Joffrey.
