Here's the full length reaction to Dumb and Dumber! This one was a lot of fun, and Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are great together. I feel like I've mostly seen Jeff Daniels in more serious roles, so it was fun to see his comedic side in this. Enjoy!

Happy Wednesday and Happy May, Addie. I do hope that you're having fun at Walt Disney World. Dumb and Dumber is one funny comedy that'll make you laugh. I plan on watching the Unrated version of the movie soon. See you soon for Dumb and Dumber To (2014).

Addie is watching the theatrical cut that's 1 hour and 47 minutes (107 minutes total) long.

From what i can recall Jim Carrey had to fight to get Jeff Daniels cast because the studio wanted another comedian, i think it was mainly because Jim didnt want another comedian to compete with which would ruin the chemistry for the characters or something i dont remember the exact reason, needless to say Jeff absolutely crushed it.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 OMG!!! I love this movie so much! It's one of my comfort movies for when I need a good laugh. And is easily one of my top favorite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels movies. Definitely looking forward to watching this one later this evening. Another great Jim Carrey movie that I very highly recommend is the 1997 "Liar Liar". And for Jeff Daniels, and if you haven't seen it and aren't too afraid of spiders, I very highly recommend the 1990 "Arachnophobia". Have a great day today! 😊

I look forward to this film and Addie's reaction. I laugh every time I watch this film. I didn't think it would be possible for another actor to be in lock-step with Jim Carrey. Another early Jeff Daniels film that was well received was "Something Wild" (1986). I remember Roger Ebert liking this one. This was the first time I'd ever seen Jeff Daniels in a film. It starts out as an exuberant comedy but changes gears and becomes something entirely different with the introduction of a third character. Unfortunately, "Something Wild" only appears for streaming as a rental on AppleTV+ and none of the other major streaming services.

I second Liar Liar (1997). Speaking of Jim Carrey, I also suggest his other Tom Shadyac directed movie Bruce Almighty (2003) as well as The Cable Guy (1996), also with Matthew Broderick and directed by Ben Stiller. #MoreJimCarreyForAddieCounts

...and (I don't care what anyone says) two other "good, stupid, dumb, fun" comedies that I would love for you to watch are Grown Ups (2010) & Grown Ups 2 (2013), both with Adam Sandler. #GrownUpsForAddieCounts

My favorite piece of "trivia" for this movie is that after this movie was released, Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly (Mary) got married.

Alex Tan

Speaking of Lauren Holly, who plays Mary Swanson, I also suggest Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993) with Jason Scott Lee as Bruce Lee. #DragonTheBruceLeeStoryForAddieCounts

And also speaking of Jeff Daniels, I suggest Fly Away Home (1996), also with Anna Paquin, Disney's My Favorite Martian (1999), also with Christopher Lloyd, and RV (2006), also with Robin Williams. #MoreJeffDanielsForAddieCounts

If you want to see some of Jim Carrey's dramatic talent, check out Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Truman Show. Jim is totally underrated as a dramatic actor.

I love this movie. That said, let me cast an early vote against watching the other D&D related titles. "Dumb and Dumber Too" was terrible, and "Dumb and Dumberer" was much much worse than that.

Happy May, Addie! It was fun watching with you! Unfortunately you missed the extra moments included in the extended cut. You have such a sweet, refined nature, you were so understanding with Lloyd & Harry's stupidities, just saying "uh huh!" every time they said something dumb. It gives me the impression you've had experience with the elderly & infirm, just respectfully agreeing with any absent-minded statement someone might make. It's so nourishing to the soul to see someone as refined as you. 💙💐

Haven't seen many people react to Dragon The Bruce Lee Story, I loved that movie as a kid.

If you’re interested in seeing more sides to Jim Carey I’d love to watch a reaction to The Cable Guy.

Doug

Yep, as far as absurd comedies go this one is pretty good. 🙂 (The line about Colorado not being very rocky and "John Denver is full of s**t" gets me pretty good. 😄)

About halfway through the reaction I was hit by a strong memory of my 7th grade teacher describing the Harry bathroom scene in vivid detail to the class. She was actually a very good teacher but she was 22 and we were the first class she ever taught. I’m not sure why it came up but it’s a good memory.

You had some great laughs with this one!

Horrendous take, Dumb and Dumber To was absolutely hilarious.

Glad your watching the theatrical version. Seen both versions a million times and what they cut was bad cringe anyways.
