Happy Friday, Addie. What a nice surprise. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Batman (1966). Now I REALLY wanna give this one a watch.

Andre Agog

So glad you watched this. It’s a great way to sample what the series was. Adam West defined Batman for a couple of generations.

Danny Steele

With the passing of Adam West in 2017: only Burt Ward, Lee Meriweather and Julie Newmar(who played Catwoman in the series)are still with us. The rest of the series is a lot of fun and is definitely worth watching. However a top ten would do for the channel. The romantic tension between Batman and Catwoman was written into the Season Two series. In one episode, the two share a milkshake with two straws in full costume, the most ridiculous thing ever, while being kinda adorable at the same time. It was so popular that it became a staple of discussions especially among the school aged children on the playground. In the first two seasons, two episodes make up a single story with a cliffhanger at the end of the first. The third season, has single episode stories and adds Batgirl to the roster of heroes. In season two episodes 51-52, features a guest hero with Green Hornet( Van Williams) & Kato( extremely young Bruce Lee, who consequently often trained with Burt Ward). Alfred is a great character and a big part of the story and the only one other than Batman and Robin to know their secret identities. While a couple of characters figure it out nobody will believe them. The Penguins trademark laugh comes from the fact that Meredith had stopped smoking years before taking this role, he had to start smoking for the role and it irritated his throat causing the laugh. He stopped after the show ended.

Lol, I thought you might be using this for an April Fools movie next week. 😄

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 Ah! The very first "Batman" movie. I've only seen bits and pieces of this one(even though it's on my dvr). So for the most part it's going to be a first time watch for me as well. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today and a great weekend! 😊

Holy Bat surprise Addie did not expect this, LOL.

Danny Steele

It was this show that basically elevated the Ridder to the Rogue Gallery status, prior to this he was a minor villain. The reason why John Astin played the Ridder was because of a dispute over money.

Jon Anderson

Happy Friday, Addie, and what a great surprise! Adam West was my Batman when I was a kid, and in my silliest moods I sometimes think this is the greatest movie ever made - well, this or Flash Gordon.

Randolph Tirazona

I grew up watching the series and this movie! lol

Phil Stubblefield

Wow, as others have said, what a fantastic surprise! Those of us in older generations grew up watching this Batman, and many of us had no idea that his Dark Knight persona was very different from the silliness to which we had become accustomed!

Jason Weiner

Holy perma-grin Batman! Loved the way you smiled throughout. Glad you had so much fun with this. Excellent reaction.

Joe Blankenship

Nunna-nunna-nunna-nunna-Nunna-nunna-nunna-nunna Batmaaan! Used to watch this and the TV show all the time when I was a kid. Of course, the Keaton Batman was way cooler, but it's still Batman!

Milton Reduxed

Imagine a country so free you can buy a pre-atomic submarine with nothing but a phony name and P.O Box

Doug

Lol, after this I had to go back and rewatch Corridor Crew's trailer they did where they put in the 1966 Batman actors into the movie trailer for 2022's The Batman. 😄

Billy Dancel

The one thing I was hoping for and sadly disappointed about was that we didn't get the Batman intro song. You should check it out whenever you get a chance.

Stephen Malloy

The movie is just like the TV show, only more so. Burgess Meredith was a fantastic actor. If you’ve never seen episodes of The Twilight Zone TV show, he had several great performances there. You should check them out, even if just on your own.

Philip Davetas

Jeez. Why? I'll go with it. This is not the Batman you're looking for.

Zachary M Kosanovich

He gets attacked by a shark and still has his leg? With absolutely no blood? Those are some thick ass tights!

Zachary M Kosanovich

Because of course they can’t tell Batman from Bruce Wayne by his voice?

Zachary M Kosanovich

So the members of the security council is dehydrated one by one and the other members don’t even notice?

Zachary M Kosanovich

Are we just ignoring that when the people get rehydrated, there was a test tube where they were sitting?

Philip Davetas

I'm okay with FOREVER. Because it runs that line between campy and serious. It's when they get more serious that it's hard to accept. I mean, a grown-ass man dressed up as a bat and I'm not supposed to laugh? But the Schumacher ones are at least silly enough that it's okay to laugh at. But the dark and serious Batmen are one of those suspension of disbelief kind of deals, but it's a hard, longstanding suspension.

I'm always terrified when people you age as a young adult in 2025 watch the films we watched and loved as 10-year-olds in the mid 1960's. Even though I am a paid subscribed on your Patreon channel, I don't want to be put off. I think a favorite word I hear a lot is cheesy. Plus, most who watch our old films are adults so they don't have the ability to watch it with innocent 10-12 year old unsophisticated and innocent eyes and minds of a 1960's child. But I watched it as a 10-year-old in the movies on a Saturday afternoon and it was just the greatest thing since sliced bread. I almost cried when Bruce Wayne's heart was broken when he found out that the love of his life was Catwoman. But I'm glad you enjoyed it and as a woman in my mid 60's now, I am just glad it wasn't too much "cheese" for your older more sophisticated eyes. I loved batman the series and my fav episode was when Batman vs The Green Hornet and Kato aka legendary Bruce Lee 😊

Lana Gorgeous

It's not a parody or making fun of Batman, it's exactly like the series that was beloved by kids in the 60's. You only think its ridiculous because all you've seen of Batman is the "ridiculous" over the top violence of modern adaptations. People your age today are so desensitized by what is showing now, it's a shock to see the films that were basically made for kids in the 60's. Boy I sure hope you don't watch the Superman from the 60's the first Superman movie, Superman vs The Mole Men, you'll really bust a gut making fun of what used to bring us joy as kids!

Addie Counts

I think you misunderstood my tone while I discussed the movie. To be crystal clear, I loved this movie and had a lot of fun watching it!

Lana Gorgeous

Thank you and if I misjudged your intentions I apologize. I guess it is the Cultural Anthropologist in me, :) Obviously the world improves with technology. Think about it, the cars we drove in the 50's and 60's compared to the computer operated cars of today. If someone could go back in time to the 60's it would be even more drastic than Back to the Furure. If people saw a car operating without a driver they would literally believe it was the Invisible man and totally freak out. Movies that don't depend on technology, romances like Casablanca are timeless. Movies that depend on technology like this Batman movie or the first Superman movie called Superman vs. the Mole Man from 1951, you may see strings or things that don't hold up and look silly or fake. But looking from 2025 eyes is so different than looking from the eyes of a 1950's or 1960's 8-12 year old child's eyes, who were the target audience. The mid to late 1960's were my peak times for getting my quarter for a matinee or 50 cents or whatever and going to the movies. Yep movies for kids no more than 50 cents back then and I was in heaven :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F95e-ZZsrMQ. . But you are doing great and I do enjoy your reactions.

Actually, it WAS a parody of Batman. The early Batman comics from the 40s had a dark crime/noir tone. They weren't campy like the 60s TV series and movie. Batman was never originally comedic. The 60s show was making fun of Batman... and it did a great job. It was a huge hit.
