I threw in Batman Forever on my own, but now let's watch another Val Kilmer movie! Help me choose a movie to watch next!

Happy Thursday, Addie. All are good choices here but my votes belong to Willow (1988) & Heat (1995) alongside the Tony Scott movies True Romance (1993) & Deja Vu (2006), basically half of the poll here. BTW, Denzel Washington is also in Deja Vu, Val has a supporting role in that movie. #MoreValKilmerForAddieCounts

David K

My favorite of his is The Doors

Philip Davetas

You can probably take TRUE ROMANCE of this poll. You don't really see him. He's just kind of in the background. Hell, Brad Pitt is in the movie more than him.

Salsa Shark

The Saint!!!!!!!!!! I'd prefer Top Secret! But everyone watched that one on remembrance... maybe everyone will write in "The Saint"

Brent Petty

Heat is the only responsible choice here.

Brian Nix

Which Val Kilmer films have you already seen? I voted for Real Genius, but my favorite traditional Val Kilmer movie is The Saint (1997), and Prince of Egypt is a great animated one.

Mark Dahlen

You should watch the doors. Val is Jim Morrison

Randee Carreno

Happy Thursday, Addie! 😊 All great choices for the Val Kilmer poll this week. Really hard to choose from this list. Ultimately, I voted for "Heat". With "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" as my second choice. Have a great day today! 😊

Milton Reduxed

True Romance is great but unless you're looking for Val Kilmer you probably wouldn't guess he's in it

Ian Forbes

Heat is an amazing film but Kilmer isn’t the focus so while it’s absolutely worth a reaction (and I’d certainly be happy to rewatch), for the purposes of this poll, I think something where he is more clearly the lead is more appropriate.

Jeff Hjelm

Top secret gmv. Heat is the best movie on here and 100% should get a react but Val’s a supporting role, limited meaningful screentime. He’s lead in Top Secret and Real Genius. But were also talking drama/crime/action vs comedy so…. Watch em all!

JSin

Heat all the way didnt realize you hadnt done that one yet. You could eventually get to all those on the list they're all pretty much great

Geoffrey T. Blackwell

I know it's goify but The Saint will always be one of my favorite Val Kilmer movies.

The Innkeeper's Table

Val Kilmer will ALWAYS be Madmartigan (from Willow) to me. ❤️

Jeff I.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang would be my first choice. Kilmer is hilarious in it!

djKENTO

Nobody will ever react to Spartan… it’s literally in his like top 3 best performances but because it’s an indie nobody talks about it. Spartan fucking rips.

Doug

No strong opinion here, haven’t really gotten into Val Kilmer. I went with True Romance since it has the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating. 🤷‍♂️

JakeToll

The Saint was good too.

Randolph Tirazona

Real Genius and Willow since they're both fun and funny and because Ollie said so!!! 😁

Andy

Such a fun movie. I hope she watches it sometime whether for the channel or on her own.

LaserLamb

Where's 'The Saint'??? From the comments it looks like The Saint could win as a write-in vote so let's do it! 🗳The Saint: Vote here ✅️

Cody Cameron

I agree the doors should have been placed on the list but real genius and willow are solid choices

aarswft

Who is voting Willow over KKBB????

JAKH

"Top Secret" has significant references to "The Great Escape", "The Dirty Dozen", and "The Guns of Navarone". Addie should watch those 3 before watching "Top Secret".

JAKH

"The Ghost & The Darkness" - *True Story* co-starring Michael Douglas

Doug Bilodeau

My favorite of these would be True Romance, a Tarantino script but he didn't direct. One year before Pulp Fiction. Not really a Val Kilmer movie, though. But keep it in mind for the future. Next would be Kiss Kiss and third maybe Willow? I only saw the first half of Heat. I had my 12yo kid along, who wanted to leave and head over to Borders where Reggie Miller was signing copies of his autobio. I didn't mind -- OD'ed on gangster movies at that time. So isn't True Romance a gangster movie? More like a surreal & bloody romantic comedy.

Doug

FYI The Ghost and The Darkness is 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, True Romance is 93%, I stand by my comment. 🙂

Cameron Kerby

Val is in that movie for like 30 seconds tops. Maybe a minute. We don’t even see his face really.

DM DC

Had to vote Willow, it's one of my absolute favorites. The Ghost and The Darkness is also really really good.

Doug

You're in luck then because it looks like Heat is winning the poll and I'm pretty sure Kilmer is in that longer than 30 seconds. 😉

Julian San

Impossible to go wrong with Heat but I have a special place in my noodle for Ghost and the Darkness.

Jacob King

People are sleeping on The Ghost and the Darkness. When you watch Heat it’s fun to know he was shooting Batman Forever simultaneously. Literally going from the Heat set during the day and being Batman at night. Spartan (2004) is a seriously cool and gritty post 9/11 spy thriller . Kilmer is in nearly every shot and he’s absolutely brilliant. It’s kind of the opposite of Jason Bourne.

djKENTO

I’d put that up there too.

MrAustincummings

They aren't going to win, but True Romance and Deja Vu are awesome! Tony Scott is in my Top 5 directors! So it's a bummer that they aren't getting more votes. Admittedly, I don't think of Val Kilmer when I think of those movies so hopefully they make it to another list.

Kawaii Leonard

I agree. Ghost and the darkness is one of those all time movies you should watch in your life, type of movie.

Alex Tan

I do hope that Addie does a Tony Scott poll in the future. Now that she's seen Top Gun (1986) & Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), I would love to see her watch The Hunger (1983), Revenge (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), True Romance (1993), Crimson Tide (1995), The Fan (1996), Enemy of the State (1998), Spy Game (2001), Man on Fire (2004), Domino (2005), Deja Vu (2006), The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009) and Unstoppable (2010). #MoreTonyScottForAddieCounts

Heat has one of my favourite scenes in any film.
