Here's the full length reaction to Ted Lasso 3x6 ("Sunflowers"). I think this has been my favorite episode of the entire show so far! It still blows my mind how this show can make me laugh and cry at the same time. Enjoy!

Hey Addie! As a musical lover you'll appreciate this fact; Rebecca's one night stand was played by Matteo van der Grijn. He's well known here in The Netherlands for playing the lead in the original cast of the most succesful musical in Dutch history (both in number of visitors and longest running); The musical is Soldaat van Oranje (Soldier of Orange), and it is an absolutely phenomenal production, based on real events from the second world war. The audience sits in a giant rotating theater, allowing for huge sets in a 360° arc around the audience, including a full beach set with enormous wave pool, multiple buildings, and a wall that opens up to show an actual WW2 airplane taxiing on the runway (the production is staged in an old retired military airbase hangar). In case you missed it, the pillow fight was a callback to Ted always giving the team a choice between a movie night and a pillow fight and "one of these days they'll pick the pillow fight". 😄

I feel like this episode perfectly encapsulates the kind of show this is: so many things happen to our characters, you don't know how it's all gonna end, but no matter what happens, you get this feeling that, to quote the song at the end of the episode, every little thing is gonna be alright.

People were kind of disappointed by the third season, just because the first two were so brilliant and the third was a bit incoherent. But watching it again with you with no expectations makes me like it more. And this ep was always a banger.

The Dude Abides

I can say from personal experience that there is literally no place on earth like Amsterdam. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve been there, but my God was it fun, especially on magic mushrooms 🍄 😵‍💫. Also, if I’m that Dutch guy and I just had that kind of night with a woman as stunning and awesome as Rebecca there’s zero chance I’m letting her leave without getting her name and number.

I feel like a lot of fans knew it was the last season and expected them to be building everything toward the finale, but the writers were just telling some nice stories. Like the episode where Nate takes Anastasia or whoever to the restaurant, if you were expecting Nate's 3rd season arc to be Shakespearean, it might have been disappointing. But rewatching it fresh on here, I thought it was fun.

Love this episode! - If you don't have much of a background with Chet Baker, he's definitely worth checking out. - Two noteworthy references in the American diner: Ted walking around after he arrived is very Pulp Fiction's Jack Rabbit Slim scene, complete with Ricky Nelson playing in the background. And the narrator/illustrations was very much Donald Duck in Mathemagic Land. - No spoilers, but... rewatch the bike scene and remember the song. Then whenever you watch the movie being referenced you can shout, "TED LASSO, BABEHHH!!"
