Let's give Addie a round of applause for officially completing the Sean Connery James Bond movie mission! 👏👏🎉🎉 Happy Wednesday. I'm so sorry to hear that Diamonds Are Forever (1971) didn't live up to the previous Bond movies for you. Hopefully the later Bond movies get better.

Simon

Don’t worry Addie, Live and Let Die will make up for this one. And you will finally get to experience the charm of Roger Moore.

This film massively suffers when you watch it in order, after OHMSS. I'm not really sure what they were they thinking making this film, after the tone of the previous one and especially the ending. It's quite a whiplash coming from that film to this, very jarring. That being said it still is a fun film to watch on It's own, so much that I really like about it, it's just fun. Still is one of my least favourite Bond films though, probably makes bottom 5. I can't wait for you to see the Roger Moore era, he probably is my favourite Bond.

Personally I would consider taking a short break before continuing with the Roger Moore movies—It's a new era, with a new tone, and taking a breather might make you appreciate them more

Adrian Duenas

Really disappointing especially because they brought back the director of Goldfinger. Not a strong send off for Connery, but now it’s time to start Roger Moore’s Bond era!

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I don't remember too much of this one. But it'll be interesting to see Sean Connery's last "Bond" film. Have a great day today! 😊

Yep, not a fan of this one either. We're on to Roger Moore! While I think Connery is the better Bond, Moore is my favorite Bond. If that makes sense.

I agree with you on this one, it is my least favorite of Sean Connery's bond movies. Yes 'Never Say Never Again" (1983) is a remake of "Thunderball". I like it, but it is an older James Bond and made by another company. I would say first watch Roger Moore's bond movies and then watch it, it was out at the same time as Octopussy (1983). I hope you continue with "Let and Let Die" (1973). which has a great Bond Theme song "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney.

I liked the first half of this one well enough, but it does have kind of a weak second half, I was literally falling asleep in my chair by the end. 🤷‍♂️ At this point I'm tempted to recommend Addie watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 5 Episode 8: Operation Double 007. It's a film starring Sean Connery's real life brother Neil Connery as James Bond's brother, a "world renowned plastic surgeon, hypnotist, and lip reader", who has to step in for 007 on a case. It's ... a movie, that's for sure! 😄

Happy Wednesday Addie. I agree with you on this one. Diamonds are Forever has never really been my favorite of the Connery era Bond movies. But now that its done, I am looking forward to you moving on to Roger Moore!

Josh

Don't worry too much about this one not being your favorite, still a great reaction! Diamonds is a tough one for most folks to like on first watch, but it can grow on you. I tend to enjoy it simply because it doesn't take itself too seriously. Regarding Never Say Never Again (1983), definitely watch it after you watch Octopussy (also 1983). As you noted Connery is even older by then and an argument can be made that his older age plays better than Diamonds due to the fact that they acknowledge the aging. Plus it has a great supporting cast. As for now...on to the Roger Moore era!

Listen to the next theme well, it is considered by many to be the best Bond song. Roger Moore's era contains my favorite Bond movie: The Spy Who Loved Me. Without giving anything away it contains IMO the best henchman, opening stunt, lairs and a real physical set that is epic.
