I love how much earlier in the show Jamie told Roy he had a poster of him on his wall and we actually finally see that poster (next to Keeley's). This show is great with callbacks. 😊

All the Wizard of Oz references in this episode: 1) Ted's mom is named Dottie... which is short for Dorothy. 2) The Wizard of Oz pinball machine in Mae's pub. 3) Beard quoting lyrics from Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. 4) "Somewhere over the Rainbow" playing at the the end of the team movie (You've Got Mail). 5) Not specific to just this episode, but Ted is from Kansas. 6) The episode ends with Ted about to metaphorically tell Rebecca "there's no place like home". 7) The song playing in the closing credits is "Home", a Diana Ross song from The Wiz.

The guy playing the coach of Man City was the actual coach of the real Manchester City, Pep Guardiola. He's widely considered one of the greatest association football managers of all time.

The Dude Abides

I love that you drank water because you were worried about crying too much. Ted’s mom showing up is so random. And Beard confronting Nate and giving his backstory is one of the best parts of this season.

Addie, sounds like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail are films to add to the reaction list. 🙂

Crimson Ace

The song "Manchester England," which you didn't recognize, is from the musical HAIR. I highly recommend checking out the 1979 film as soon as you're able. It's a far cry from the power of the stage version, but the music is simply unreal.

Kobaian Vagabond

With all of the emotional moments in this show, the Beard-Nate scene is the one that broke me.

Matt

"Our story is very much like Les Mis, yes... I stole a loaf of meth" are all time great lines

Addie Counts

Ahhhh I didn't realize that it's from Hair! I only know a few songs from that musical.
