Here's the full length reaction to The Running Man! I wasn't originally going to watch this one (it was second place in the poll but still significantly behind First Blood), but I didn't realize that a remake of this was coming out this week! I felt like this might be a good time to watch this one! I don't think this one makes it into my sci-fi/action favs, but Arnold is so fun to watch as always. Enjoy!

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm so glad that you also watched The Running Man (1987), despite not being one of your favorite sci-fi/action movies. However I'm looking forward to seeing the newer movie, with Glen Powell as Ben Richards, in IMAX on Saturday and I hope that you'll watch that one eventually. #TheRunningMan2025ForAddieCounts

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I've been meaning to watch this one. Especially with the new Glen Powell remake coming out soon. I'm looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

If you want 80s action cheese, this one brings the goods. Lots of campy one liners.

Hi Addie. I recommend you 'The Long Walk' (2025) it's another reality competition in a dystopian world, also based on a Stephen King's story.

While I love this movie it’s nothing like the book. The new movie looks like it will be a much closer adaptation of the source material. If you haven’t read The Running Man I highly recommend it, and it’s pretty short too.

Not the best Arnold but very fun one. Always fun watching an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, we will see how the remake is. I was not impressed with the remake of Total Recall

The actor playing Sub-Zero was also Oddjob in "Goldfinger" In real life he is a black-belt judoka, and so has a legitimate claim to the title "Professor"

Luis Fernandez

Killian, the host, was played by Richard Dawson who was best known the host of The Family Feud, which he did for about a decade. Mick Fleetwood (from Fleetwood Mac fame) and Dweezil Zappa (musician, Frank's son) were both in the scene when they were getting their collars removed.

Nice, I like The Running Man. 🙂 It’s certainly not the best Arnold movie, and parts of it feel pretty dated now, but it’s still pretty fun with a few unexpected plot twists and a bunch of little parodies of media and corporate culture.

Wow the timing of this is great. I started reading Dungeon Crawler Carl and it referenced this pretty early and I've been wanting to watch it since

Addie, I gotta say, I love just how OFFENDED you always are when the villains lie. It seems like you get more angry every time they repeat the lie. Stephen King may be best known for his horror books, but he's written in so many different genres, and sometimes even has a happy ending. So it's not an automatic "His books are ALWAYS sad and scary". I haven't read the original "The Running Man" so I can't say where it falls on the scale, but it's possible it's more lighthearted than his name would make you think (Again, I haven't read it, I'm just saying it's not an AUTOMATIC downer).
