The Dude Abides

Arguably Jim Carrey’s best movie. I prefer Dumb&Dumber but this one is great too

David hess

Adrian Duenas

I’ve seen so many gif’s from this movie but I still haven’t seen it. That changes tonight

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I'm so happy that this movie won the poll. This has been my latest go-to comedy lately. It's one that I always have to watch every time it's on tv. And it's one of my all-time favorite Jim Carrey movies. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Let's give Addie a round of applause for officially completing the Jim Carrey/Tom Shadyac trifecta with Liar Liar (1997)! 👏👏 Happy Friday. This is one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies that I own on DVD in both Widescreen (1.85:1) & Full Screen (1.33:1) formats, with the latter version in open matte. BTW, you did see TWO Universal logos. Ok, if I can explain, the second logo is the actual one that opens the movie because the first logo, although it was already on movie posters & press kits, did not debut until The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), which came out two months later. It's just how Universal puts out their pre-1997 library on streaming services. Honest.

You should watch Maura Tierney, who plays Audrey, again in Twisters (2024) with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell. #TwistersForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/wdok0rZdmx4?si=71Y8VgXyycKLe1Y0 https://youtu.be/Jm27YjLnPHc?si=BaJd845w5zIQcZby And speaking of Cary Elwes, who plays Jerry in this movie, Westley in The Princess Bride (1987) and Jonas in Twister (1996), I also suggest Days of Thunder (1990) with Tom Cruise, produced by Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott. #DaysOfThunderForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/RU2tNPd8zJA?si=OA7kTCy8URfpm2El Yeah, a lot of my movie suggestions are movies that may be VERY STRESSFUL for you, but I'm in favor of those, as a junkie for visual adrenaline. #MoreStressfulMoviesForAddieCounts

I don't remember Addie laughing so much like she did with that last blooper:)

Robert da Spruce

Fun, heartwarming movie! My favorite line is actually from the bloopers at the end When Swoozie Kurts (which is a very fun name btw 😄) calls Jim an over actor! 😂

Fernando

I've never seen Addie laugh this hard before. 🤣 Thank you for FINALLY reacting to this comedy classic. This was the best reaction to it. 🤎

Doug

Lol, I just realized that both this movie and the second place runner up on the poll, Ted, happen because a kid's wish came true. 😄

Doug

Liar Liar is probably my favorite goofy Jim Carrey comedy, but I think his best film might be The Truman Show. (I also really liked him in Man on the Moon as Andy Kaufman.)

Alex Tan

Please watch the Unrated version of Ted (2012). #TedUNRATEDForAddieCounts

Carrey solo? I go Liar Liar. I consider D&D to be a Carrey/Daniels joint. Liar Liar, Ace Ventura 2, D&D, Ace Ventura 1, Cable Guy, The Mask. In the pre-Truman era.

Joe Blankenship

On my all-time faves list here. Jim Carrey destroys it in this movie. The scene with the blue pen is one of the funniest things ever. He's so good at selling that his hand is operating independently from him. I hope you'll do Dumb and Dumber soon. (theatrical, not extended)

Since the super bowl is coming up, you should watch the second best sports movie ever, The Replacements! Keanu!

Joe Mallard

She reacted to it 2 years ago.

Gets hard to remember who has seen what.

I've never quite gotten what this movie was trying to do. It seems obvious on the surface yet in the Court room when Fletcher forces the reveal of the complete truth about the divorce it allows the lying, adulterous, conniving bitch of a wife to win way bigger than she otherwise would have whlle traumatizing the children and victimizing the good guy husband to a much greater degree. It doesnt make any sense with the tone and message of the rest of the movie..

Cary Elwes is missing his accent, easy to miss. Loved this movie growing up. My comedy taste was built up around Robin Williams and Jim Carrey's movies. Always loved the physical humor in this.
