Hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday Addie! Speaking of birthdays, that reminds me of a story. This one time at band camp….😉😊

Happy Monday, Addie. American Pie (1999) is said to be one WILD comedy. I'm sooo watching the Unrated Version of this movie on Saturday Night, in time for Pi Day 2026. In fact, I even own the Ultimate Edition DVDs of both Theatrical and Unrated versions, which contains the movie in both Widescreen (1.85:1) and Full Screen (1.33:1) formats, with the latter version in open matte, based on my memory.

My parents had this on dvd growing up and kept it hidden from me and my siblings. Little did they know I found it in middle school…but I still haven’t seen it all these years later lol Happy belated birthday Addie 🥳🎂🎉

Sound like you missed it in the best 4 years of most people's lives

Mr. Writhms

What I took away from this movie is... If you're going to join band camp... bring your own flute. 😏

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend & a great birthday. 😊 I LOVE this movie! This one, and the third movie are my favorites in the "American Pie" series. Definitely recommend watching the rest of the series at some point. I can't watch anything with Alyson Hannigan without thinking of of the "this one time at band camp" scene. LOL! Definitely looking forward to the watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

The Dude Abides

Jennifer Coolidge said this movie resulted in her having many many sexual encounters with younger men, and if I’m not mistaken, this movie did spawn the term MILF And laws for this sort of thing didn’t really exist in the 90s, but if Jim did this today broadcasting Nadia on the Internet, he would go to prison. Side note the guys hanging out with the blonde guy with the monkey is Blink 182 And in the unrated version, the pie scene is even worse 😂 Jason Biggs was also in Orange is the new black he was Piper‘s fiancé

Baldemort

Addie, welcome to 90s raunchy. Haha.

Mr. Writhms

I wish she would react to some raunchy 80s movies, like "Porky's" or "Bachelor Party".

U should watch the next 3 ones

Philip Davetas

Oh jeez. I just listened to Seann William Scott on INSIDE OF YOU. Good stuff

Superb reaction. If you do American Pie 2 please do the uncensored version. Its the best version.

The movie on it’s own is great but with the context of the next 3 it really makes it a classic. You should really watch the next 3 to get the full story.

Im so happy to watch this with you! I highly recommend you watch 2, Wedding, and Reunion as well. There are several side movies but those three, along with 1, are the main ones with the original cast. I have always loved these movies for their showing of brotherhood between the 4 guys. Such amazing friendship! And you are absolutely right in there being a sense of sweetness to them. 1, 2, Wedding, and Reunion all share that.

Speaking of actors looking familiar, I swear the actor who played Sherman (Chris Owens) looks a lot like a young Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach in Watchmen, Freddy in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake). And Mena Suvari who plays Heather is the spitting image of Angourie Rice who plays Betty in the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. If I didn't know American Pie was filmed thirty years ago I'd swear it was the other actors playing them. Also Natasha Lyonne who played Jessica is great, I really like her in Poker Face (the show that's a huge homage to Columbo) in particular. 😊

Joe Blankenship

That was a fun reaction. Especially since you had no idea about the pie scene, lol Jason Biggs was also in Saving Silverman. That's one of my favorite comedies. It's him, Jack Black, and Steve Zahn. It's hilarious.

Addie Counts

Yes! I think they all looked familiar because they remind me of someone else

(in response to the idea regarding her watch the Unrated Version) Yeah, right. During the livestream, I did ask her which version of this movie she watched and she chose the theatrical release for the sake of making it easier to edit for YouTube, especially considering the raunchy nature of this movie. So if she watches the rest of the American Pie franchise, chances are that she'll watch the theatrical releases to make it easier for her to edit on YouTube.

The title is an allusion to the Don McLean song "American Pie", and from there a reference to AMERICA. "As American as apple pie" and so forth. Since the story is the Classic, All-American Tale of boys growing into men, changing from kids to adults, etc. Despite the film resting firmly in the sex comedy, gross-out humor genre -- and it's never ashamed of that -- I was always fascinated at the maturity it showed when it came to sex itself. None of the boys got what they expected from having sex. It didn't turn them into Men overnight. It didn't fulfill them. It didn't exist solely for THEIR pleasure, or to serve as a milestone. The couple that was in a relationship broke up after having sex, but it wasn't because they had sex, it's because their lives are going in two different directions. The couple that had sex when they first got together is apparently going to stay together, but again not because they had sex, it's because they are changing themselves to be together. One of them had a one-night stand, but it was at her instigation, not because he "won" or "convinced her".

The youtube version, was one of the funniest reaction vids I have ever seen. I had to do the full version.
