Damn it. Maverick was so close.😖

I have no recollection of this movie Stardust ever existing. I was in college in 2007 and don’t remember anyone talking about it at the time but it’s at 77% on Rotton Tomatoes and 7.6/10 on IMDB so must be pretty good. Not really my type of movie but I hope you enjoy it. I lived in Germany for a while when I was enlisted in the army, Europe is such a blast and you can go everywhere on trains. Italy and Greece are amazing, top notch beaches. Also, I had no idea people were taking entire Patreon reactions and doing that and you’re right the reactions where it’s just the movie with a bunch of different actors at the same time talking at the same time are crap.

A Jackass reaction would be incredible. As far as Project Hail Mary, read the book first! Best book I've read in a very long time

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 Thank you so much for another great monthly Q&A. I'm so excited to watch "Stardust" for this month's 'Spinning Wheel' movie. It's one of my go-to feel good movies. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Hi Addie. Maybe you could make a list on letterboxd with horror movies you think you can handle and let people choose from there.

Adrian Duenas

Let it be known that on March 27th, 2026 Addie invented #AvengersDunesday

Can you react to ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER when you get the chance?

I've always thought the difference between anti-heroes and anti-villains is kind of interesting. 😊 Basically an anti-hero is a protagonist that the audience is rooting for but they lack some endearing qualities. Deadpool for example is a character the audience wants to see succeed but he also is kind of an obnoxious person who annoys all the other characters he meets and he has no problems killing people in excessive ways. The Suicide Squad is another example, they're also ruthless killers and mercenaries but they're trying to do something good in that film and the audience wants them to win and be redeemed in the end. Similarly Peacemaker, who got his own spinoff show, is likewise a sympathetic anti-hero who can be kind of a jerk a lot of the time but whose goals are otherwise heroic (helping people, keeping the peace, taking down bad guys, etc). An anti-villain on the other hand is an antagonist that the audience wants to see fail but who nonetheless isn't completely evil. They might have good intentions and be polite or charming but somehow they're going down the wrong path in the story. Magneto is a pretty good example of an anti-villain in a lot of stories. He's a holocaust survivor who, rightly, realizes that humans are prejudiced against mutants and fears the tyranny that the government can impose on groups it finds problematic. But he's a villain in those stories because he often goes too far in pursuing the goal of protecting mutants, to the extent that he murders people and commits mass acts of terrorism to try and influence governments. And obviously some characters transition through villain or anti-villain or anti-hero or hero stages over the course of multiple story arcs. In the MCU Loki for example started out as a murderous villain trying to take over Asgard and Earth, but as the movies went on he became more of an anti-hero "bad boy brother" to Thor by the time Ragnarok rolled around, and over the course of his TV show eventually had a full redemption arc, ending that show as a full blow hero. Another transition example from the MCU is the Scarlet Witch Wanda. She started out as a villain antagonist in Avengers Age of Ultron, but by the end of that film switched sides and became a hero by the time Endgame finished. But then in Wandavision she backslid into anti-hero territory, being the protagonist in that show despite essentially kidnapping an entire town for selfish reasons in that series. And then her backslide continue in the Multiverse of Madness film where she was once again a full blown murderous villain / anti-villain (anti-villain in that she does have a sympathetic backstory, it's just that what she's doing is so clearly wrong it's hard to really put her in anti-villain territory.)

Doug

Lol, I feel you, my film was just a couple clicks away from winning this time too.

Doug

I said it before but I would definitely vote for Good Boy on a poll, it's a really good movie. And I'm pretty sure Addie would like it because, despite being a bit creepy, it does star an adorable dog that you can't help but root for the entire time.

Happy Friday, Addie. Thank you for answering my questions. Here are my thoughts on certain things: 1. Congratulations @David Lonewolf Wright! 👏👏🎉🎉 Your suggestion for Stardust (2007) just won the spinning wheel. I'm watching this movie when my 4K Blu-ray comes on April 28th. 2. Teleportation is a great superpower. That's how apparating works in the Harry Potter movies. 3. My most anticipated movies of the year are The Odyssey, Dune: Part Three, and Disclosure Day. 4. I'm seeing Project Hail Mary in IMAX 70mm tomorrow with my parents. 5. Speaking of my parents, they just got back from vacation in China. After dinner at Outback last night, they went to bed afterwards due to the jet lag. 6. I can't wait to see you watch Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005-2008) soon. As an Asian American, I grew up on this Nicktoon. #ATLAForAddieCounts 7. If I could go anywhere in the world, then it's Asia. I'm going on vacation to China in October. 8. If I could still fulfill my career dream, I would rather be a movie star, but more importantly, a movie director. My go-to genres would be action thrillers, disaster, war, adventure and horror, but I would also do coming-of-age and slice-of-life dramedies with bittersweet endings. Essentially a little bit of everything. 9. I would love to see you watch One Battle After Another (2025) soon. #OBAAForAddieCounts 10. I plan on seeing both Avengers: Doomsday & Dune: Part Three. My girlfriend & I plan on seeing both movies with the latter in IMAX for our 8-year anniversary on December 26th and the former with our friend who loves Marvel and anything Spider-Man. Dunesday IS going to be the next Barbenheimer. 11. I asked the last question of this Q&A because I'm opening up to the fact that I was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum at age 2. Naturally I function much higher now and I'm also glad to have my parents with me but sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I was a neurotypical like you, my older sister, my cousins, my teenage work friend/supervisor, and my parents, but having said that, I probably shouldn't be ashamed of my neurotype because I was often told by my parents about how lucky I am to have them around with me and that I have a more stable lifestyle, which is something I never realized.

a. Teleportation is a tricky one. I'd only want it if I could also teleport things I'm touching, like my clothes, or beyond that, like a grocery cart. It'd be less convenient to show up nakey everywhere I popped to. b. (Minor trailer spoiler) Given what will be happening in the new Spiderman... perhaps watching Daredevil S2 may be a good idea? It'll give some background on a cameo / additional character that appears in the trailer.

Baldemort

Has anybody had their movie win more than once? I've been putting the same movie in for a year ane still no luck 😂🤣😂

Franco V.

Stardust is a fun movie. I haven't seen it in a while... Now I have a good reason to rewatch it.

Joe Blankenship

I didn't know there was people posting full watch alongs with the full movies on Youtube. I haven't come across any of those yet. Every now and then, I see channels that have somehow uploaded entire movies to Youtube, not even cropped or anything. No idea how that can fly.

phillip giroux

I hope you do watch Avatar the Last Airbender, if you enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon, I'm sure you'll like ATLA

Billy Dancel

You may have confused Avatar: The Last Airbender with One Piece. As of December of last year it had 1155 episodes!!!

Addie Counts

DANG yeah maybe I was confusing the two shows!

I can’t believe I missed Addie’s post about this Spinning Wheel; but I’m also thrilled, that ‘Stardust’ won the spin, so that makes up for me not getting to nominate my own pick; I’d have probably gone for either ‘Arthur’ (1981), or ‘Withnail & I’ (1987), but ‘Stardust’ is a worthy winner, so I’m happy. I’ll definitely be keeping a better eye out for the next post for Spinning Wheel nominations; I’m determined to win on that wheel eventually haha.
