Here's the full length reaction to There Will Be Blood! I've been recommended this movie so many times over the years, and I'm so glad I've finally watched it! I won't be able to look at a milkshake again without thinking of this movie haha. I believe this is my first Daniel Day-Lewis movie, so I might need to check out more of his movies in the future! Enjoy!

An acting masterclass in this one

Fun fact: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was being filmed at the same time only a few miles away. The oil fire scene forced the NO COUNTRY crew to stop filming for a day due to visible smoke in the sky.

Happy Monday, Addie. There will be blood when you watch There Will Be Blood (2007). Adding this to my watchlist and I defend Paul Dano.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is another movie that I've heard so much about, yet hadn't seen. This will be a first time watch for me as well. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Critics call this Anderson’s magnum opus, and I second that. Jonny Greenwood should’ve been nominated for Best Score. I definitely recommend The Crucible and Lincoln for future Daniel Day-Lewis reactions.

Another great, very different Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel-Day Lewis collaboration is Phantom Thread (2017). There Will Be Blood is personally my favorite PTA film, but I hope you continue to go through his filmography on the channel, especially Magnolia (1999) with Tom Cruise and Punch-Drunk Love (2002) with Adam Sandler.

May the Fourth be with you Addie! I think I’ve seen this film once before. I don’t really remember the plot. I do remember oil was involved but that’s about it

A good film, but Tarantino is right about Paul 'weak sauce' Dano

My long story behind this movie: Daniel Day-Lewis did a movie called The Boxer in 1997, then took a hiatus from acting; didn’t see The Boxer at that time cause I didn’t really know who DDL was…in 2002 he returned to the screen to do Gangs of New York and I was blown away by his performance; from that point on I wanted to see any movie DDL was in, so I went back and watched everything I could find, some great ones like My Left Foot (1989), In the Name of the Father (1993), etc. when he was at his peak in terms of acting; went to see There Will Be Blood theatrically in ‘07 without knowing anything about it, and ended up seeing it three times cause I just couldn’t get it out of my head, and was astonished by the caliber of DDL’s performance; one of the greatest actors of his generation for sure, and his 3 Oscar wins are very much deserved; another movie to check out is Lincoln (2012) if you again want to see a masterclass in acting

My favorite subtle moment is when Daniel goes from angry to a little smile in the middle of the baptism after he's been slapped. Because at that moment he decided he's going to destroy Eli.

Every time I watch this, I can't stop imitating Daniel Plainview for like the next week or so. Just "Bastard from the basket! Bastard from the basket!" replaying in my head. "I'm an oil man." I hope you'll do "Magnolia" soon. That movie is so good and I haven't seen it in a hot minute.

"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" - Daniel Day-Lewis

Hunter DeRensis

"I have to keep reminding myself this isn't a horror movie." Oh but it is Addie!!!

Could things have worked out differently if H.W. didn’t get hurt? As we got introduced to Eli I had thought that it was a young Lewis Pullman aka Bob in most of his movies. Turns out he was the Riddler

This is one of my favorite films. The greatest character study in my opinion. For me, 'There Will Be Blood' is an unofficial Dracula film, with Daniel Plainview being a Dracula like character. Although, not a literal blood drinker, Daniel has an unquenchable thirst for oil and his greed easily takes over. Even in the ending of the film, he is all alone in his decrypted mansion engulfed in darkness like a creature of the night. DDL is most famous for his dedication to his craft, for better or worse, and 'There Will Be Blood' is no exception, his method acting is frightening and astonishing. Oh, and the oil fire scene is a masterclass in filmmaking. 2007 was a great year for film. Thanks Addie.

Tarantino was definitely clout chasing by calling Paul Dano weak sauce, I think he holds his own to Daniel Day Lewis for sure!

Tarantino is a fan first and foremost. Fans aren't diplomatic and have strong views because after all talking about movies is supposed to be fun
