My 2nd favorite of the year so far (after GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE, which is directed by Gore Verbinski of the first 3 PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN films fame (do not miss this)). Love the unique storytelling style used here. Speaking of Ryan Gosling, I sincerely hope you see the other space movie that he did: FIRST MAN (2018), directed by Damien Chazelle. That movie sees Ryan play Neil Armstrong and focuses on his career and personal life between 1961 and 1969. The first-person POV of his air and space missions (paired with the sound design) are insane! Fun Fact: James Ortiz (the voice actor and puppeteer for Rocky) is eligible for an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for this film. Would be so cool to see him get nominated and/or get a Special Achievement Oscar for this film.

Hi Addie. So glad you watched this movie, my favorite of the year so far. I hope Ryan Gosling gets an Oscar nomination next year, his performance is so good. Fun fact: The five tones from Close Encounters that we hear when Ryland and Rocky try to communicate was actually Steven Spielberg's idea. He suggested to the directors it'd be fun if we hear the musical notes from his movie in that scene.

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Project Hail Mary (2026) because I did when I saw it in IMAX 70mm at the Regal Mall of Georgia with my mom and dad. Now I really wanna watch it again.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 I have yet to read the book. But I plan to since it's by the same author that wrote "The Martian". And this is such a great movie. Definitely one of my favorite films of the year so far. Looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

I was wondering if you were going to react to this one Amaze! Amaze! Amaze! 😄 Looking forward to watching your reaction!

Well I know what I’m doing after work today!

BTW, the trailer for Dune: Part Three (2026) played before the prologue to The Odyssey (2026) and my mom was covering her ears because of how loud and intense it was, due to how loud Timothée Chamalet was screaming the Fremen war chant, which I was lip syncing to. Play it full screen on your computer with your headphones on for maximum effect and you'll know what I'm talking about. https://youtu.be/Ry04Mr9-rlc?si=XA9LcxFFIa7wniiB

Can’t wait to revisit this tonight. Shout out to Daniel Pemberton’s score. The track “A Moment” and the scene that goes with it are so mesmerizing together.

I'm gonna check this out in a minute. After I finish watching EACAPE FROM NEW YORK. Just finished THEY LIVE which as an allegory for 2026 and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK is what's going to happen afterwards. I guess the propechies of John Carpenter are true. Anyway, been looking forward to PHM. Finally, I gots me some snacks and my trusty lemonade for the flick.

Yup. Just watched it. Those Lord/Miller flicks are always entertaining. I'm even more curious now how much of SOLO was used before they were fired. But this is kind of everyone's apex this far. It's not easy to act with a non-person for two and a half hours. Plus, it had this weird soothing tone to it almost like WALL-E or even the video game PORTAL. There was this overbearing danger it it made you feel like everything was gonna be okay. Not that no one was going to die, but that things would be okay. Kind of like how we all take a few steps away from our birthdays.

I loved this movie. I ended up crying so much.

Luckily Ryan Gosling did have an acting partner Rocky was a puppet. I think thats why he looked so good.

Mister Lou

I was gonna say that this movie isn't half bad, but it is full good! 👎

I knew I was going to like this, but had no idea this much. As much as I love The Martian, I think this one has over taken it. I just got my Fist My Bump t-shirt today... so excellent timing.

You really should finish the book, best book I've read in a long time and way better than the movie. Once you get to the part where he reaches the other ship it's so hard to put down

On a tangent it was nice seeing Milana Vayntrub briefly in this as the Russian engineer. She's probably best known as the ATT rep Lily from their commercials, but she's also done some fun stuff and got buzz in comic fandom for ALMOST getting to star as Squirrel Girl in a live action Marvel show called New Warriors that was by all rights suppose to have aired but died on the vine when Marvel killed off basically all their Hulu shows. Despite the show being cancelled, though, she did still end up being the voice of Squirrel Girl in animated appearances and the Marvel Rivals video game so at least there's that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This was like The Martian, Moon, Arrival, and Interstellar rolled into one.

Such a great film! Wonderful reaction Addie! I was going to say “fist my bump” but it feels somehow inappropriate 😉 What I didn’t notice the first time I watched the film was that the Russian Astronaut Ilyukhina was played by Milana Vayntrub. She did all those AT&T a few years back. Didn’t even recognize her 😄 I hope you take another crack at the book! It’s excellent!

I'm late to the party but I have finally watched this with you! The only way this could have been better is if our favorite voice actor, Alan Tudyk, was Rocky

Lee R.

This one was a lot better than I thought it would be. Glad I decided to give it a shot.....and glad the author didn't give him the first name Fuller lol 🤣
