My reaction to The Grand Budapest Hotel (our latest poll winner) will be up later this week! These are the movies I have in mind for my not-so-scary movies in October so that I don't dread recording the entire month lol. I might watch one, a few, or maybe ALL of them depending on what you all vote for! I'll make a post later this month for you to recommend some scarier options muahahaha. Happy voting!

Young Frankenstein has been notoriously impossible to stream for the longest time which is why I haven't watched it yet, but I believe I've figured out how to watch/record it if it does well on the poll!

Hi Addie.... this is a no brainer.... definitely Young Frankenstein.. hands down. Lots of people think that this is Mel Brooks best film.

Jasbro

If you’re looking for scary but not really scary suggestions then It Follows would be perfect, I’d say it’s less scarier than Obsession.

Adrian Duenas

Frankenweenie might bring out some tears, but it’s easily Tim Burton’s best movie in recent years.

Robert da Spruce

Now that you used up Obsession early, looks like you’re going to have to come up with some new candidates for October 😄 As far as this list goes, I’m leaning towards Corpse Bride and Coraline. Both beautiful stop motion films. With the former being my first choice Hotel Transylvania is also a fun movie too

SuperAMG1992

Watch the Hotel Transylvania films. I was surprised how much I liked them. I think you will too.

Blind Entertainment

If you’re looking for one of the least scary movies I’d say Hotel Transylvania. Monster House, and Frankenweenie would also be great choices for a not so scary movie.

Daniel Karlsson

Would love a reaction to Train to Busan in october 😊

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Addie! 😊 "Young Frankenstein" easily got my vote for this one. Have a great day today! 😊

Ian Forbes

Addie, for a not-so-scary 80s film (written by Shane Black who wrote Lethal Weapon, The Nice Guys, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, etc), you should watch The Monster Squad (1987).

The Dude Abides

Young Frankenstein is the only correct answer

Baldemort

Addie, if you watch Young Frankenstein will you link where you watch it? Since its not on any main streaming platforms for us who want to watch the full length reaction

The Dude Abides

That movie is surprisingly violent for a kids movie. At the time, I didn’t even really notice but in retrospect Jesus Christ 😆

Ian Forbes

Haha, true. I didn’t notice either as a kid when I first saw it. And now, it’s like a nostalgic palette cleanser against the traditional horror films.

Steve Mercier

Young Frankenstein all the way...

LaserLamb

Yeah, I've often wondered what Addie would look like totally traumatized & exhausted from screaming & crying. 😏

Doug

Young Frankenstein, easiest pick of my life. 😄 For the next scarier movie poll, I’ll suggest Good Boy (2025), it’s one of my favorite more recent spooky movies and I 100% guarantee Addie would love this dog, he’s the best. 🙂

LaserLamb

Has anyone seen 'The Last House' (2026)? I thought it was pretty good, anyone else?

Joshua Miller

Young Frankenstein -- the whole film -- is on YouTube but methinks posting a reaction would be problematic

EmAtinyDragon

I'd love to see Dracula, Dead and Loving It on an October poll one day. It's more comedic than scary; directed by Mel Brooks and starring Leslie Nielsen!

Jon Anderson

If you're on the lookout for other not-really-scary movies, Love At First Bite (1979) is a real hoot and has some fabulous disco-era fashions.

StonedTrunks

Monster house was a childhood favorite of mine so even though it probably won’t win this poll i do hope you watch it at some point

Tesh

its not gonna win but ParaNorman is a beautiful movie both in animation quality (stop motion) and just music/visuals and especially the message, i highly recommend it some other time, its a movie that will always have a spot in my heart

Shooter The Emu With A Gun

While I love Young Frankenstein I am going to back the two stop motion features. Both Coraline and Corpse Bride are gems and worth a watch even if they don't win.

Milton Reduxed

Family-friendly spooky themed movies: • Meet the Applegates • Elvira Mistress of the Dark • Ed Wood • Matinee (1993)
