Alright, Addie-O. Everyone on the show is now bald. Time for you to shave your head, too…in solidarity.

Franco V.

The second half of this season is wild. Can't wait to see your reaction to those episodes.

Your comments after ep4 are a great reason to watch Better Call Saul!

This clip of Bryan Cranston’s Malcolm in the Middle son Frankie Muniz expressing burning hatred for Skyler — and Cranston defending her — went viral earlier this year. It represents the hate that certain people feel/felt for Skyler. https://x.com/KillaKreww/status/2042689591396745559 In 2013, while the final season was airing, Anna Gunn wrote an essay for The New York Times about learning that the hatred for Skyler had spilled over into people on the internet wanting her dead. (I just re-read the essay. There are no spoilers.) https://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/opinion/i-have-a-character-issue.html In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn said: "I am not on social media. I’ve never been a social media person. So, for a while, I really wasn’t aware of what was going on online until people started letting me know. And then, of course, I thought, ‘Well, what is this that they’re saying? I will look into that,’ which was probably a mistake. But it’s a mistake that led to a great deal of soul searching and me thinking, ‘Well, is it me?’ And I think the writers went through the same thing: ‘Is it the way we’ve written her?’….So I really just had to go through that ring of fire, for lack of a better phrase, to understand that a lot of it was, frankly, misogynistic. A lot of it was the way that female characters were treated, and I think we’ve come a long way since then. If I may call them my sisters, I’m really proud of all the actresses who’ve spoken up and continued to pave the way and created their own antihero characters for themselves. So I really felt the need to say something about it at the time, because I have two daughters, and it was important for me that they know. They were very young at that point, and to my knowledge, they were not watching the show. (Laughs.) But it was confusing to all of us. Nobody ever came up to me in person and said, 'Oh my God, I hate you!' People don’t do that. They save that stuff for the internet because, for the reasons that we all know, it’s anonymous and it’s hidden and people can let it fly. So they say things that they would never say to a human being’s face, but it did become upsetting at times. And it did become alarming when it turned violent. Sometimes, the comments could turn threatening or violent, and that concerned me. So I just didn’t want to feel bullied by all that, and I felt that it was my responsibility to stand up and answer to it, which is what I did. And now, when people come up to me, it’s incredibly different because of all the seismic changes that have happened. There’s still a long way to go, but we really have made seismic changes since then. So people come up to me now and say, 'You were the linchpin for me. You were the conscience of the show. You were what pulled me into the show.' Or they say, 'The first time I watched it, I hated that character. But the second time I watched it, I realized, "Oh my God, that poor woman."'”

Addie my favorite irony of this show is in this episode. Hank going through the lab notes wondering what WW means and going "Walter white?" and then Walter putting his hands up like he has been caught going "heh you got me" OH this show is too good. Addie I wouldnt mind one more sneaky breaking bad episode this week xD

Vash

It's always fun to see how people react to specific characters on their first watch. I was the opposite of Addie, I didnt like Jessie but was sympathetic to Walt. But then you start to realize they are both basically two sides of the same coin that lead to all the terrible things they've done. Walt with his ego and Jessie with his impulsiveness. And just as Addie mentioned, how Skylar was treated by fans when two of the main characters are drug dealing murders.

Off topic. Addie in case you don't know yet Spiderman Brand New Day is coming to digital next week

Blind Entertainment

This ending was so unfair! Now gotta wait a week to see what happens to Jessie!

Joe Blankenship

The Skyler hate was so dumb. The show makes you root for Walt to be bad, but Skyler's not the villain. She pulls Walter back to who he really is. Plus, by season 3, Skyler becomes one of my favorites.

Doug

I like this episode but, damn it Gale, I’ve had Major Tom stuck in my head all afternoon. 🫨

Milton Reduxed

It's not the broad story strokes that make people hate Skyler it's largely the haughty, passive aggressive, characterization by the actress; and the show spends way too much time on her

The skinny guy in Jesse's house was one of the teens in "Galaxy Quest"
