I could see this being scary as a ch…oh wait, you were a teenager 😄 Just teasing! The movie is a little creepy. Regardless of age

I’ve always loved stop motion animation going all the way back to Gumby. I know I would never ever be able to possess the patience it takes to make something like this, but I can definitely appreciate the effort.

Laika is truly one of the best animation studios working today and I still don’t think they get the praise they deserve. ParaNorman and Kubo are definitely worth checking out, and their next film Wildwood is coming out in a few weeks.

This movie was originally intended to be a musical but I love the route they went with instead while including amazing music.

When I first became a follower of reaction videos this movie was only available to stream by purchasing it. Now we finally get to watch it together. Shocker that a different world could get you to join them by having dogs in it. Course I would be there too. lol

Let's give Addie a round of applause for facing her fears and surviving Coraline (2009)! 👏👏 Happy Wednesday. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this movie, despite how creepy it is. This is one of my childhood gems. I even saw an exhibition of the stop-motion models at Universal Studios Hollywood back in 2011.

Such a great movie, I'm impressed by it every time I watch it. There's a story told about when the short story was first being written. The publisher said it was too scary to count as a Children/All Ages book, so the author suggested she have her daughter read it and if SHE thought it was too scary, they'd stop, but if she liked it they would publish the book. The daughter said it wasn't too scary, and they went ahead with publishing it. But then several years later, when the daughter had grown up a bit, she confessed that it WAS too scary for her, but she also desperately wanted to finish the story and learn what happened next. So she lied to her mother, and that's how we got the finished story. When they were making the movie an early thought was to use stop motion for the "real world", but show the "other world" with CGI. When compared side-by-side they realized that the real world looked SO MUCH COOLER than the other world, and couldn't picture a child being drawn to the boring other world. So they decided to use stop motion for everything.
