My girlfriend and I just watched this a couple nights ago and weren’t really sure what to think about it but then she went to Spirit Halloween and noticed there were costumes for this movie so I guess it’s pretty popular. I guess it started on 4chan of all places? The internet is a really weird place. I think I’ll wait for your YouTube edit because I don’t really wanna watch this movie a second time right away, or maybe ever again

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving Backrooms (2026)! 👏👏 Happy Wednesday (although it's already Thursday in China). Based on what your description says, I can only say that this horror movie freaked you out the most since The Shining (1980). My girlfriend & I did watch this movie in the theater on opening night and we both enjoyed it, although it freaked us out as well. You'll never see empty rooms, abandoned furniture stores or other abandoned places the same way again.

Loved the reaction! You didn't really stand a chance with this one, Addie... you were freaked out before the movie even started. I watch so many horror movies that it is rare that I feel it, but I loove that sustained feeling of anxiety that you can get. Jump scares can be fun but are kinda cheap... you can even get them from a title card (hehe) I chase that prolonged feeling of discomfort. You should def search out some of the online backrooms stuff. But only alone at night in a dark room.

You definitely weren’t in the right mindset to watch this one! You spent half the movie in a pseudo karate stance with your hands to your face in a defensive position 😄 I also think you psyche yourself out sometimes. You’re so ready for a jump scare that doesn’t come that your may actually be stressing yourself more 😉 As far as the movie goes, My first time watching as well. Meh. Kind of unsatisfying. You’re left with more questions than answers. And I don’t feel a great need to go searching for them I didn’t know this movie takes place in the San Jose area. That’s not too far from where I Iive. Which is unsettling 😬

I like this one, it’s definitely got a neat aesthetic. I’m a bit of a Dead by Daylight fan and Backrooms has a similar vibe to the Garden of Joy level with the killer Dredge where everything is kind of pasted together but slightly off with furniture sticking out of the walls and such and Dredge itself looking kind of like a cobbled together mess. Definitely a cool film, they managed to get a lot of mileage just from minimal effects and set designs.

Your Accumulated Information, excuse me A.I., explanation probably is one of the more realistic analogies I've heard from creators. Which is the very premise, creating nonsense realities via peoples recollection of things and just making a incoherent blended figment of the unimaginable. Otherwise known as Clark so eloquently stated, a "real mess"! Fun, overall, first half pacing felt a tad slow but picked up and ended decently enough.

Wow, really impressed you make it thru this one. That means you are now ready for the Mist and its legendary ending. Love or hate that ending, I love it, most will still agree it is perhaps the worst ending ever and by worst I don't mean gory at all. It was directed by the man who directed both Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile.
