As of now, it appears that True Lies is winning the latest Arnold poll, but it has been brought to my attention that the movie currently isn't streaming. When I quickly googled all of these movies for the poll, it appeared like it was available for streaming, so my guess is that it was removed recently? I've looked into all of the ways that I could possibly watch the movie, and I won't be able to properly record it right now until it's available to stream or rent. My plan is to watch the runner-up from that poll, and I'll record True Lies if it becomes available to stream again!

Happy Sunday, Addie. I totally understand the lack of streaming availability for True Lies (1994). However, a new remaster of the movie is coming out later this year and hopefully, it'll be available to stream at that point. BTW, I'm looking forward to your reaction to Total Recall (1990) soon.

The streaming seems to cycle at times, sometimes it stops for some movies

If you have a DVD drive you can still buy it on Amazon. It might also be available via VPN on Prime Video

Sorry to hear about True Lies being unavailable. A suggestion for the future - download the app JustWatch, you can set up all the streaming platforms you have and just search by title. Can make life easier at least.

Lord Byron

Or just use the Apple TV app…

sarCC

Yay!!!! Total Recall rules!!!

BHillzebub

It's on Disney+ in the UK if a VPN can be used

Steve Graham

^^ Best way to find where are the movies.

cough cough piracy cough cough

I think it would still be in your best interest for YouTube views😊

Somebody send her a copy Stat!😂

True Lies right now is available Free on Paramount TV and for Subscription on MGM. I thought it was Free on YouTube last week. I guess availability changes every couple of weeks or maybe in a month. (EDIT: I don't see it anywhere. "JustWatch" says it's on Paramount+ and on MGM+ but Prime says it's unavailable and it will usually tell me if a movie is on MGM+ (7-day free trial), and I have Paramount. So, nope. It's Not Available. Probably ended June 30th.)

Here's an interesting thought... what if I "buy" a movie from one of these services (maybe YouTube) and then it goes away and is no longer available streaming, I can still watch it right? Or do they have some kind of unreasonable control over something I purchased digitally? 😅 And the answer I guess... is that they have to have it available on their servers so that I can watch it any time I want regardless of its availability publicly for streaming to everyone else. And the deeper answer is probably there is some digital depository where it's saved and everyone actually pays for this service...

Mannygogou

Interestingly Prime might be the best way to digitally purchase a movie because they've been around the longest I guess and they've had this service since the beginning. Back in the before-fore-time you could buy a DVD and then you could register the digital copy for free... but I never did. I think I could have a big library of movies now that would be digitally available to me if I did that.

Richard B

I purchased True Lies years ago on Vudu. It's still in my library and watchable.

Mannygogou

but there's still the question of customer owned digital movies that must be available for streaming 24/7 (yes I reply to my own comment) 😄 So there is cost of servers to store your purchased movies and the streaming costs etc have to be paid for. A free service that I never took them up on. But an amazing business decision that they did in the beginning believing that they could provide this service forever or until either party dies. This is what I think, the actual cost to them for digitally storing one movie like this is the same cost if one customer purchased it or a million customers did... because it's still just the one server copy (plus backups). So I think they ought to do a sale: $1,000 for 1,000 digital movies !! Is this feasible? It's basically free to them because they already store all those movies. And they could get $1,000 per person... A thousand is a rightly nice library collection. (Edit: LOL after further research, ultimately those digital copies expire. Even those that come complimentary when you buy the DVD. Basically it's cool to have a digital copy of a DVD you bought but you're not allowed to stream it forever. I guess they knew what they were doing way back then.)

zynjams

just get Itunes, you could rent a movie for about 3 dollars.

Todd Joseph

Totally cool. As long as you never watch Terminator 3 or Alien 3. Let’s just all pretend that Sarah Connor, Hicks, and Newt lived happily ever after…😬😬😬😬🌈

BND

Isn’t it available on paramount+?

LightsCameraJake

In the U.S it isn't nor is it on iTunes. Marked as unavailable in your area, same with Amazon.

BND

yeah they must have removed it recently because I remember watching it on Paramount+ a couple months ago.

LightsCameraJake

As somebody with an MGM and Paramount + it's not available there, can confirm. What annoyance this is.

Steve J

Remember, this is the age of streaming when you can watch "whatever you want whenever you want". ...unless it's one of the million horrible reasons we concoct for you to pay extra/not be able to see it/live in the wrong place

Mannygogou

Thanks Richard, good to know!

Aaron Taft

what is "streaming"? Is that where you get it off TiVo? Because you don't own the BluRay or DVD?

zynjams

ukm, I own it on Itunes

Daniel Goldberg

It looks like True Lies is available for streaming on Hulu. I didn’t find it anywhere else.

Cliff Adams

I, too, found it on Hulu. My Roku also claims it is on Peacock, but I cannot find it there.

martensJD

Hulu has True Lies
