Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 I haven't seen this show in a long time. It's going to be fun revisiting it over here. And seeing if there's anything that I remember. I do remember that there's a movie that serves as a continuation after the last episode. Like the title of the first episode, it's called "Serenity". Have a great day! 😊

Alex Tan

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you're finally starting Firefly. Even I haven't seen this show, so I plan on watching this show very soon, depending on whenever I can. Hopefully this coming weekend.

Steve SG-1

I'm more a Stargate SG-1 fan but as I've never seen this I will give it a shot!

Billy Dancel

I'm beyond thrilled to see not just one, not two, but three episodes to begin this fun adventure!! I'm so excited!! Pressing play very soon!!

Alex Tan

BTW, I do hope you'll also continue with movies as well, in between. Fingers crossed that you'll do a straight pure action movie poll because it's been a while since you watched a straight pure action movie since the Die Hard, James Bond (Daniel Craig) & the John Wick film series, although you did watch True Lies (1994), recently. I'm still holding out for The Fast and the Furious, Bourne, The Expendables, The Equalizer, Jack Ryan & Mission: Impossible film series as well as the movies of directors Tony Scott & Michael Bay. #MorePureActionMoviesForAddieCounts

HOLY FRAKING GORRAM! I was not expecting this. This is one of my most favorites of all time! I can't count how many times I've seen it. I am always down for another watch. Get ready for one heck of a ride. And don't forget about the movie at the end.

Thomas Yanez

One very important thing to remember about this show is that it was cancelled before completing its expected 20+ episode run. The final episodes for the season hadn't even been written yet, and Whedon's expectation had been that the show would get multiple seasons (after his success with "Buffy" and "Angel"), so some story arcs were intended to stretch beyond the end of the season. Thankfully, we got the movie to provide some closure.

MattyK

I should watch Firefly. BUT if this gets us a Battlestar Galactica reboot watchalong, I'm subbed for liiiiife

Billy Dancel

The first thing you might be wondering about is why are they speaking Chinese on occasion. It was a loophole to add some “swearing” to get it by the censors. I’m not sure if it is swear words but it adds to the story. Jewel Staite, who plays Kaylee, is actually not a fan of strawberries. Didn’t seem like it though, right?! Reavers are a very scary story. A bunch of curveballs in the first episode, right? You were turned in a couple of different directions. Welcome to the club, we have matching Brown coats. “A Crazy Ivan”!! Episode 3 of the 3rd season of The Mandalorian, Bo Katan performs a similar maneuver in a similar situation. I absolutely went nuts when I saw it and thought of FF! Something very unique about Firefly. Especially about the ships when they’re flying. In the lower atmosphere, you can hear them flying. In outer space, you don’t. Welcome to Firefly, Addie!! I love how Ollie graced us at the start!!

Thomas Yanez

"Crazy Ivan" is a term used by the U.S. Navy to describe a thing that Soviet subs do where they will suddenly change direction or even turn completely around to check their blind spot.

Onno Smits

One of my favourite shows, looking forward to it!

Billy Dancel

Makes perfect sense and is quite fitting. Thanks for the info.

Luis Fernandez

For more Whedon/Fillion fun, I'd recommend you check out "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". It was a musical web-series released in 2008 starring Nathon Fillion, Felicia Day, and Neil Patrick Harris. All episodes combined take about 45 mins so it is great fun in less than an hour.

Thomas Yanez

Another Whedon IP that desperately needed more seasons and never got them.

Phil Stubblefield

I am *SO* excited! I've been waiting to see your reactions to Mal and the crew! Do you have a brown coat yet? 😁

Steve Mercier

Oh, heeellllllll yes! Might just be the all-time greatest show that never made it to the end of its 1st season! And a lot better than a lot of shows that did! Good shit!

Patrick Egan

Watching someone experience this show for the first time never gets old :) This show is probably overhyped by some folks, but it's still VERY good. And I think it'll be right up your alley, Addie. I don't want to spoil anything, but you will experience ALL the emotions over the course of watching this show :) Simon's speech to the crew talking about his sister and what happened to her is one of my favorite monologues ever. Sean Maher does such a beautiful job, you can really feel Simon's love for his sister. As you watch more Firefly you'll eventually get to another of my favorite monologues, but that's all I'll say for now ;)

Collanaro Percalon

Just discovered your channel. ^_^ Firefly's one of my all time favorite shows. Thanks for sharing this with us. :) I watched some of the edited version before coming here to the Patreon. Very nice job on the editing. Your reactions are fun and interesting. Almost feels like really watching along with you. Didn't get bored once.

BubblyRainbows

Just gonna go ahead and give this a preemptive like before even watching it. It's "Firefly" with Addie. Pretty safe prediction that this reaction will earn a like!

Did you notice that Wash wasn't holding the yoke when Zoe told the captain she needed him to tear her clothes off....great blooper that they didn't re-shoot.
