Surely The Godfather will win.

Patrick Egan

Definitely The Godfather, it's an absolute classic.

Phil Stubblefield

Topping the poll is _The Godfather_, widely regarded as one of the finest movies of all time, and currently #2 on IMDB. So of course the majority vote for something else... Sigh. 🤦

Ben

Wow, after a couple of polls where i wasnt overly excited with any of the options, you go and drop this poll where everyfilm on it is worth watching.

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Addie! 😊 All great choices for this poll. It was a close decision for me between "The Departed" and "The Wolf of Wall Street". Ultimately, I ended up voting for "The Departed" for this one. All are fantastic movie choices, and whichever one wins will be a great watch. Have a great day today! And a fun Halloween! 🎃👻

Alex Tan

Happy Tuesday & Happy Halloween, Addie. All are great choices but my vote goes for The Godfather (1972). I also vote for Goodfellas (1990), Casino (1995), The Departed (2006), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), all directed by Martin Scorsese. #MoreMartinScorseseForAddieCounts

The Godfather is overrated. Come at me.

BND

I agree with you on Saving Private Ryan.

QuiGon_Jim

Nah, you're allowed to not like something. Scarface was the best film ever when I was 13, can't stand it now.

BND

BTW, I'm not saying The Godfather is a bad movie, it's an excellent movie, but to be considered the greatest movie of all time is what I don't agree with. Top 20 at best.

"It insists upon itself." - Peter Griffin

Wow, scarface not getting any love, how is this even possible 😳

MattyK

The Departed is sooooooooo good

Mr. Writhms

"So, uh... Which shall it be?" "ALL." That quote is from a movie, posted earlier on this channel. And that's how I voted.

Mr. Writhms

I'm coming at you. Let's go for a ride. 🐟

Alex Tan

...and when she gets to the third one, she should watch The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone (2020).

zynjams

ugh to all, arent we done with real violence, we have to subject us with it in our entertainment also

Mr. Writhms

Art often reflects life. The good thing about art is: you get to choose which form to experience or not.

Carlito's Way Miller's Crossing Midnight Run Heat The Way of the Gun Reservoir Dogs Ronin The King of New York The Killing (1956) The Untouchables Den of Thieves The Getaway (1994) The French Connection A Prophet To Live and Die in L.A. The Bank Job (2008) Hard Boiled Sin City Once Upon a Time in America The Gangs of New York

Ernesto Lopez

I voted for it and i dare say its the best movie on the entire list, don’t care what anyone else feels about it. Al Pacino in a De Palma movie, lightning in a bottle filmmaking.

Michael McDaniel

Have you watched RED with Bruce Willis? It is a spy/action comedy and a hoot.

Hok'Tar

Red1 and Red2 are a must watch

Alex Vazquez

Usually, the original is best. Using your examples, I prefer the originals of "Psycho" and "The Omen". In the case of "The Getaway", I prefer the remake. Some adaptations are better for cinephiles than for casual viewers. Ideally, one should see both but that's unlikely even though some reactors do specialize in being completionists who do in-depth comparisons.

Chip MC

Definitely all of them haha Just go in release order

Alex Vazquez

A movie is more than just plot. The people who collaborate on it bring unique qualities to the production that are not reproducible. There will never be another Steve McQueen or Slim Pickens for that matter but the cast of the remake is stacked with some incredible performers like James Woods, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Michael Madsen, Jennifer Tilly, David Morse and Richard Farnsworth. Alec Baldwin is in rare action hero mode acquitting himself well. The gimmick of having a real-life couple serve as the leads works better with Kim Basinger generating more heat with Baldwin than Ali MacGraw does with McQueen. Sam Peckinpah is a legendary director known for stylish violence but Roger Donaldson's direction feels more kinetic and grounded and grim. It's a matter of personal taste and which you've seen first but I feel a modern viewer would connect more with the remake. As someone interested in film, I saw both to compare after seeing the remake in theaters thirty years ago and the remake is the version that stayed with me. Not every reactor has the inclination to do that so I recommended the version I preferred.

How about a 'change of pace' afterwards with Arrival (2016)?!? Its a Great Show!!! I'm thinking Addie will love it!
