It's a new batch of contestants for Season 2, but Swedish Fred returns!! What more could one ask for (except the mainstays of Greg and Alex, of course) to make the transition between the first two seasons of the AMAZING TASKMASTER??

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 1, and I would love it if you watched along with me. Definitely be sure to let me know your thoughts about It if you do! I've provided the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred YouTube version can be found here: https://youtu.be/vVuaUxnABdg. For those watching the YouTube version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up (I found them free on YouTube, fyi).

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

Ahhhh this video dropping is the best thing to happen to my week. Thank you!!!

Calbah

I love that Doc Brown and Jon Richardson both act like it's a travesty that Joe didn't get the points in the potato task when they're the ones who voted against him.

I just watched it and loved it, as always! I've never watched the censored version before, so every time the red Taskmaster stamps pop up on the screen, I get so confused lol. A couple of things to mention. The show typically has all comedians, as the show format really relies on each individual to be funny, self-deprecating, and have a distinct comedic personality. Richard Osman is the exception in this case, hence the running gag. Speaking of comedians on this show, Jon and Joe are both 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown regulars, Jon being a team captain, and Joe being...well...I'm honestly not even sure how I would describe his role on the show. When there was a dispute about whether Richard's interpretation of the task was acceptable, the person they contacted was Susie Dent, a regular on both original Countdown and Cats Does Countdown, who specialises in the words (dictionary corner). Joe taking the piss out of her is almost like a continuation of a running gag from that show. With regards to Katherine Ryan (who is Canadian), I completely understand you not enjoying her as much as the others. I was apprehensive at first, and I think it's because, amongst the British comedy, North American comedy sticks out like a sore thumb. I think British comedians make it look so effortless, and so when there is someone within a group like that with a more in-your-face approach to comedy, it can appear offputting (in my opinion.) Moving forward she definitely has funny moments, but it can take some getting used to. I think she's certainly brave to rise up to the challenge! I'm really looking forward to the next one. Thank you as always <3

I was about to explain the Susie Dent thing! You beat me to it.

Was so excited to see this in my inbox (and the second episode too!!) Richard is certainly VERY smart. He created and co-presented the quiz Pointless – Josh brought in his trophy from the celebrity version last series – and also presents Child Genius and Richard Osman's House of Games, among others. He's also written a series of crime novels. Joe's potato throw is a top 10 Taskmaster moment. Potatogate. Joe's my favourite and I always felt genuinely bad for him hahah

Becky

Yes, a very successful author. His book film rights was bought my Stephen Spielbergs production company, and Netflix have the distribution rights to the film.

Kate

Joe vs the potato is still one of my all time favorite Taskmaster moments. The editing, the build-up, the shock of him making it in when everyone else failed horribly, the elation, and then…the despair. I just love this show so much. Thanks for the fun reaction! x

It certainly helped that I recognise all the other panelists from other panel shows (except Doc.) Katherine is someone you can't help but love after hearing about her ongoing relationship with an inflatophiliac on "8 out of 10 Cats" or watched her fly to New York with Richard Ayoade on "Travel Man."

David vs. Film

Hey you know what, that's a great point! I didn't think about that at the time, but YEAH! If they both didn't have such nice smiles, I'd almost be pissed about that lol

David vs. Film

Such a great comment, Becky, thank you!! You know, what's so interesting about Cats and/or Countdown is that I have heard so much about both shows (and I guess the hybrid combined show?), and yet I still have very little understanding on what they are lol. Which I am actually happy about because I do plan to watch (I'm hoping compilations, if the show/s are congruent with that format) for the channel, and so I prefer the blind approach to anything new. With Katherine, I'm just rattling off my first reaction to her, and I'm completely leaving the door open as always to fall in love with her later. It's funny you mention the North American vs. British comedy though, because I think that's pretty close to what actually threw me at first: her accent. Even though I'm obviously American with a very American accent, I guess I get immersed in the soft "It's not a cookie, Mother, it is a Fig Newton", polished sound of the British accent. So when she spoke, it was like a record scratch. And then it was just downhill from there with the crying and the antics. But again, comparatively there are some songs that I didn't care the first time I heard them, and now I drive to the grocery store with them on repeat. ;-P

David vs. Film

Yes!!! Thank you Evan!!! I knew Pointless sounded familiar when you wrote it, and then in the next thought, you reminded me why. I think Romesh or Tim even picked on him about it or something, if memory serves. I can already tell that even though my obvious love is for Doc and Jon, Joe will probably be my favorite by the end.

David vs. Film

girrrrl... for real!!! I am so glad that YouTube didn't flag me for too much original content left in because I had to leave as much of that whole segment with him as possible. You are 100% correct that it was brilliantly edited.

David vs. Film

Hey Michael!! Well you know how much I trust your judgment, of course! I already had that door open to get to like her better, but now I'll keep it open more since you said that. I may also look up the Travel Man clip you were talking about, because that sounds fun.

Caroline

So glad you’re back watching this again!!😙 Aye, you’ll love all of them in this season as well.. Even Catherine😝
