With only *2 episodes left*, Young Royals S3 Ep. 5 covered a lot of ground, but also left a lot to be answered in the SERIES (crying) FINALE!!! Not to mention that the end of this episode was the Wille/Queen Mammaaaaaa showdown I've been waiting for!

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 5, and I would love it if you watched along with me. Definitely be sure to let me know your thoughts about It if you do! I've provided the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred YouTube version can be found here: https://youtu.be/m3W1RhtB5tA. For those watching the YouTube version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up.

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

I felt so bad for Simon, being the one Wilhelm took everything out on. Until Wilhelm finally got to go after who was actually hurting him. They were never there for him, the dad doesn't even have an excuse like the mother does. I loved that scene, it was so good. But then to make the worst birthday ever even more worse that he got broken up with. I feel so bad for both of them. Simon needed to do what's best for him, he can't be in charge of always putting Wilhelm back together again. But I get Wilhelm too, he had so much pain and hurt and didn't know what to do with it. Great reaction.

Yep, alot of Erik this season. Heavy on the Erik is significant I think, because he is so integral to Wille's sense of duty. His duty in his role is more to his dead brother, who he had on a pedastal, than to his mother or the royal court.

It's been more than a few bad weeks for Simon. His pressures started when Wille made his speech a couple of months ago. The hate mail, late night phone calls and cyberbullying began even before the start of this season. He put up with it because he thought it was worth it for Wille and he thought he could support Wille too. But Wille just got worse no matter what Simon did. So he had to change something. I love that you love Mrs Potts in this episode. Her role is significant as Simon keeps looking at her. Then when he notices her the second time, he sees that Wille has spoken to him the same way he has spoken to this servant of the royal house. I feel that that moment was when Simon decided he couldn't do this anymore and Wille was becoming unrecognisable to him.

So that happened! What an amazingly disastrous episode, and yes, performances all around just top notch. Wille needed to get that all out and I'm glad he did, but god seeing Simon so beaten down this episode really hurts me. I'm proud of Simon, too, for doing what he needed at the end but UGH IT HURTS. How nice that you got to roll right into the finale rather than experience the tortuous week wait we did!! The emotions I went through that week reading all the different predictions on social media. It was wild. SO looking forward to seeing your reaction to the finale!!! 🎢🧻

Uh! So well said Pamela. That's what I really love about this show, though, is that it's written so well that you can nearly see it from every character's point of view. There is no clear "good guy" or "bad guy" etc., because they're all just so human with complex emotions and actions. And I have to keep reminding myself that aside from the obvious complexities that come from the Royal part of it, these are hormonal teens feeling some very real feelings, probably for the first time. It's a lot!

Toooottttalllllyyyy... but then it makes me wonder why there wasn't this heavy focus on him in Season 2? I would have expected this kind of reaction when we were more fresh off of his actual death and the fallout. But I guess maybe we had to develop the characters more and the love/outing of Wille & Simon before we returned to the "duty" angle? I love it either way, though, so no complaints. ;)

David vs. Film

True, very true. He has been under pressure pretty much since the first episode of the show, come to think of it! But yeah, I just still can't get over the amazing performances by all the leads in this cast, but especially Omar.

Just posted it!! :) It wasn't as traumatic (crying-wise) as I anticipated thank God, but it got me still lol. Oh and trust me- as satisfying as it is to go right into the finale, I still have my fair share of waiting for shows that I watch outside the channel. Not to sound like I'm 107 years old, but when I was a kid, shows had AT LEAST 20 episodes per season, and they came on nearly every week except holidays, breaking news events, sporting events liket he Olympics, and summer hiatuses. Now it often takes them YEARS to put together a single season of MAYBE 10 episodes, if we're lucky. I've made the joke several times that when the season of Stranger Things finally returns, those "kids" are gonna be in their 40s.

Erik does get mentioned in season 2, just not as much. Nils tells Wille that Erik used to see the school therapist, Boris. Wille is surprised and asks Boris about it but Boris says he can't talk about it. This is when Wille starts to realise that Erik was not happy, if he also needed to see a therapist like Wille does. Also, Felice's friends Frederica and Stella gossip in the school cafe about Erik seeing an OnlyFans girl who had to sign an NDA. Plus the flash back of his conversation with Erik when his frog Prince snow globe breaks. We learn that Erik passed that on to him as a symbol of who he is as a Crown Prince, meaning that Wille believed that that was Erik passing his mantle onto him. The broken snow globe has freed the frog Prince a little though. At the time we were very upset about it because it was one of the last things he held onto every time he thought about Erik. Then finally in the last episode of the entire show, Wille finally bins the frog Prince and the shattered globe right after listening to his birthday song present from Simon. "Erik was there" all along. Slowly coming down from his pedestal.
