'SUP Awesome Patrons! Let's go Taskmaster Season 5!!! Time to begin another outstanding season of this phenomenal show. This go 'round, I am pleasantly surprised to say that I actually recognized not one, but TWO cast members! I'm getting better with knowing my UK celebs, but I still have a long way to go ;)

Here is my unedited, full-length reaction to the PREMIERE EPISODE, "Dignity Intact". My only complaint about this episode is that it went by so fast. There is not one person in this series that I don’t absolutely adore. They’re all such nutters in their own way, which along with the contestants’ dynamic, is what makes this series so incredible. The woman you called Ashley is called Aisling. It’s an Irish name, pronounced like Ash-ling. It’s the Gaelige word for ‘dream’ (which she most certainly is!) If you think that’s a difficult name, her middle name is Clíodhnadh, pronounced like Klee-uh-nah or Kleena (depending on the person.) I’m excited for you to continue this series and get to know the contestants more and more. Also, I’d definitely watch a video of you trying British snacks!

This is a great cast! Bob and Sally are both legends, and knew from when you first started watching S1, that Sally and Aisling are going to be contestants you’ll absolutely LOVE!! 😁💕 Sally is just crazy, and Aisling is a lot like Roisin, in the way they both just don’t care, and don’t try to be funny which makes them more endearingly funny😌😂 Hope you and the family are all well.. much love from Scotland💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great to watch along with you David and see your first reaction to this excellent cast. I first saw Sally in a C4 comedy sketch show called "Smack the Pony" which is available on ALL4 in the UK and Hula in the US I think. It's from 1999 so yes - I am old. I had forgotten how laugh out loud funny this first ep is!! Sally’s special cuddle is so unhinged I love her so much 😂 And Bob is something else lololol. Amazing. The Nish edit is very potatogate which I love, and yeah. It’s an utterly fantastic season : )

This is such a fun cast. If you asked me on different days which person is my favorite, I would probably say each one of their names at some point. Mark, Tim Key, and Alex are best friends in real life. During lockdown they invented a game called No More Jockeys that is now a YouTube channel. I quite like them as a trio because of how different they are. Nish is primarily known as a political comedian but does other stuff as well. I especially enjoy him as a guest on Brett Goldstein's podcast, Films to Be Buried With. They always do a films of the year episode together and are so passionate about what they've seen that I want to watch everything. Aisling is one of the most naturally funny people I've ever seen. Many of my favorite moments of hers are from her appearances on QI. One that stands out is when she and John Barrowman are riffing on her being drunk in a bathroom as he helps her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDBgnr5lbBU&t=15s (I couldn't find a clip of just that. It starts at 29:50. The whole episode is good if you have time to watch it though) She just had her first child a month ago, and she was awesomely honest about how miserable she was during pregnancy (one star review, ha!). Sally and Bob are absolute legends which you will be reminded of in every episode. Nevermind. While looking for the QI clip, I found something that has to be in the top 10 best things ever on television. Alex telling Nish he can "see the wind on his butt crack" will never stop being funny to me lol. I've been looking forward to this series, so glad you enjoyed the first episode! I love everyone on this cast so much that I don't think I could pick a favourite. Mark's awkwardness really speaks to me though. I've met him a couple of times and he's lovely. Bob and Sally are both unhinged in their own wonderful ways, Aisling's so funny, and I've always really appreciated how unapologetically outspoken and compassionate Nish is in his comedy so he has a special place in my heart.

Saoirse is a weird one, and many of us Irish get so irritated at Saoirse Ronan constantly telling people how to pronounce her name, because it’s not correct!! She says it like ‘sur-sha’ but it’s ‘see-er-sha’, it’s the Irish word for ‘freedom’. Anyyyywayy, this reply was a lot longer but I’ve deleted my big Saoirse Ronan rant hahaa. There’s loads of really beautiful and hard to pronounce Irish names, but once you have a basic understanding of the Irish language, they get much easier to pronounce! For example, now you know that bh = v, so you’ll remember that for any future names! The British snacks video may be a cute Christmas video idea.
