Unfortunately, the writers of the show have confirmed that Jet *did* die in that moment and that's the last we've seen of him. That scene is a reminder to us that Avatar isn't really a "kids' show", just a lot of deaths are offscreen.

Yep, Jet is dead. They couldn't outright show it, seeing a teenager die (and not become a moon spirit right after) was too much for Nickelodeon. The "he's lying" from Toph is the best the writers could do to confirm it, other than saying it in later interviews. It's also why I feel confortable telling you this, since you're not going to get the confirmation from the show itself.

i get where he is coming from though. i mean she always over promise and under deliver. she promise season 3 ep 1-3 on wed but its now fri and still only 2 eps is posted. i don't think ppl will have a issue with it if she just made promises that are easier to keep.
