So ep 19-20 will be uploaded together on Saturday. Can't believe will be moving onto s3 already next week!

What is great about the Avatar story is the ability of the writers to include themes that adults can recognize, like mind controlling secret police, propaganda, understanding political differences, and self-discovery, so that they can watch with their kids and not be bored, while also entertaining and subtly instructing kids watching. I'm sure lots of kids would ask questions of their parents when they didn't understand some of the things they watched, and their parents helped them by answering them. I like that the creators never talked down to their audience, especially given the restrictions that Nickelodeon placed in order to keep this a "kid's show". The growth of the characters shown is also amazing, and very welcome. All in all, this is a classic in storytelling, at least in my opinion.

I love the sequence of the Gaang storming the Earth King’s Palace, just the way everyone was so perfectly in sync with each other, it really goes to show how far they’ve come as both individual fighters and as a team. And when it comes to you praising the fight choreography, you can thank Sifu Kisu (the guy from the bending commercials) for that. Another Avatar Fun fact: Did you know that the Earth King was modeled after a real historical figure? That person being Puyi, the last Emperor of China, and there are several similarities between them. Both were puppet rulers since their early childhoods. Puyi was isolated for years inside Beijing's Forbidden City, similar to how the Earth King never left the palace (which is modeled after the Forbidden City, much like how most of the Earth Kingdom and especially Ba Sing Se is modeled after Imperial China). The Earth King also wears spectacles, like Puyi did, and his clothing is based on the Chaofu, a kind of ceremonial clothing worn by the Manchu emperors of the Qing dynasty.
