BTW, the woman in Hama’s flashback was Katara and Sokka’s Gran Gran Kanna. Meaning that they knew each other and were friends.

I absolutely love this episode!! As bad as Hama is, from her perspective it is completely relatable. 😢 And in the end I think the most evil thing about her, is that she doesn’t care if she is liked or if it ends up well for her. Hama’s only goal was to pass on her knowledge and skills of blood bending to another water bender. She doesn’t care that it is used to take her down, her goal was never to win that fight. She just knows that she got the knowledge of it out there, so it will one day hopefully be used against the fire nation.

all bending can go to OP level. not just water. if you think about it logically it'd be scary if humans could bend in real lol. we may not have people left. If I had to guess with fire you could probably raise the temprature of other people's body heat to dangerous levels. Not sure though. Not a science person.

Fun but unsurprising fact: that episode aired on Halloween. Other fun fact: the move Katara uses at 24:08 (timestamp of your video, not the episode) is not a waterbending move. It's an earthbending one. It's one of the first ones Aang used, all about facing the threat head on. That's why Hama looks so taken aback, that's not the kind of strategy she could have ever predicted fighting another waterbender. It's also once again proof of what Iroh said when he taught Zuko lightning redirection: 'It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations, will help you become whole. [...] It is the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful. But It can make you more powerful too!" Katara's waterbending is stronger than Hama's, not because of some innate advantage, but because she learns from everywhere. Hama's view on life became rigid after she started seeing nearly everyone as the enemy. The beautiful thing about the show is that you can kinda understand where she's coming from. She was basically tortured in a prison for years, it would make just about anyone bitter and callous. In another life, a teenange Hama could've been the one finding a young airbender that had been frozen in an iceberg for a few years, then travelling the world to train him.

Also Katara also studied the waterbending scroll to learn techniques that might have been lost over time.

I don't think they were lost techniques. The pirate they got it from said he himself got it "up North", so it's northern water tribe moves. Pakku would go on to give similar scrolls to Aang at the beginning of Book 2. If the waterbending scroll from the pirates was truly unique, Katara wouldn't have given it so willy nilly to Wan Shi Tong, in my opinion.

That's how Monk Gyatso killed all the firebenders when they invaded the air temple. He sucked all the air out of the room they were in and everyone (including Gyatso) suffocated to death.

Wearing a Doffy shirt for an episode called the Puppetmaster, quite fitting lol

In my opinion that old lady was somewhat justified with her revenge on folks from fire county.

I just want to let you know ahead of time that when you watch the series finale, please watch all 4 parts at once. I don't even care if you release them all at once, but watching them back to back is the only way to do it. That's how it was released originally and how it's been released since. Imo it's best to treat it like it's own mini movie.

Jira

Bloodbending is an allegory to abuse/violation, you have no control of your own body, thats why katara feels so bad about having to use it to stop hanna

hazera hoque

Are you going to watch the legend of korra next?

loke_Noke

i know am late but @JamiUwU in 24:08 what katara did was an EARTH bending techinque, its amazing how iroh was the one who said the best benders use other bending styles, and katara uses it, and STANDS HER GROUND!...

Shannon Curry

Jami took Hama's story, hook line and sinker
