Should I check out Korra or wait for movie?

a lot of people hate korra and will discourage you from watching it, but it's the canonical continuation of ATLA that builds a lot on the original series, and any real fan of the franchise should experience it for themselves. some of the worst avatar parts are in korra, but so are a number of the best parts too

I'm not big on Korra, but I'll watch it with you. To me they lost a lot of what made ATLA good unfortunately. I would think you may want to watch the movie first since it takes place in-between ATLA and Korra.

Legend of Korra is a really good! It’s more mature and the choreography and bending is taken up a notch in Korra!! Tbh It’s hard to duplicate a master piece like ATLA tho.. But they did their best considering Nickelodeon/Paramount was NOT on their creators side when Korra was airing. Definitely watch it tho!

I love Korra. I actually didn't watch it until after the final season. I grew up with Avatar and watched it from the day it premiered to the day it ended, and I was honestly not a fan of the idea of a sequel series. One day I decided to give it a shot and man am I glad I did. It is an amazing show. It's also a very different show. Some people like it and some don't. There are part ATLA does better and some things LoK does better. If you go into it with an open mind I think it will surprise you. I do suggest watching something outside the Avatar universe first, like Invincible S4.

I will say that Book 2 is easily the weakest. Yet it also has some of the best peaks of the series. So even at it's worst it's still very good.

In a way "Korra" to "Last Airbender" is like "Lord of the Rings" to "The Hobbit". Continuation of the overall story, but much different in presentation and central themes, and different characters, as well as a world in which a couple of generations has passed. The effects of bending on overall society that has also incorporated technology from the Fire Nation and the engineer-inventors is interesting.

What are you smoking? It's more consistently good than season 2, but I'd argue that aside from having lower lows S2 has higher highs than S1. And seasons 3 & 4 are many people's favorites for a reason. They're amazing.

Tbh I don’t get the idea of starting new show when there are so many unfinished ones. Many of those were pretty good and didn’t deserve to be dropped 🤷‍♂️
